For those that bought the Fallen Kingdom steelbook from Best Buy, it is on sale for $27.99 this week. I was picking up my 'Solo' steelbook and PM'd it while I was there.

Hammond's transformation between JP and TLW has similar issues but benefits from Attenborough's warm performance in JP fighting against the ruthless capitalist characterization. More importantly, that character's wealth & age meant he didn't have to work for a living if he didn't want to. And of course the aging ultra-rich turning to philanthropy is not unheard of.
The BBC report at the beginning of Fallen Kingdom says the Masrani Corp had to pay out $800 million dollars in damages. So Claire and other employees of Jurassic World could have received multi million dollar settlements. So she didn’t necessarily have to give up her lifestyle or sacrifice anything to start a non profit.

That's possible but if anything I'd think she'd be held partly responsible herself since she took part in the development of the Indominus rex. I'd assume that the families of dead/injured grunts and guests would be getting the lion's share of the payouts.

Ehhh, she seemed to be a live-action version of

So still a bit cartoonish.

I watched this tonight and liked it a lot.
The visual was great and the DTS-X mix rocked!

Been a looooong time since I've seen Daria but I remember her being cynical above all else. Zia actually has a nice moment where she insists on seeing a dino with her own eyes and momentarily lets her emotional guard down when one comes into view. I find her hostility to people coupled with a passion for animals believable since I've met people like that.

Apparently there's a cut scene that establishes her as a lesbian. I seem to recall there being a lesbian character on TWD who was written like Zia but can't be sure as that's another show I haven't seen for several years now.

Definitely some oled candy on display here. Watched this back to back with Jurassic World and while the first one was pretty good and an improvement over previously released hd blu-ray, Fallen Kingdom is just of demo worthy quality. It does shine in the first half of the movie and while second half being mostly nighttime it never feels dark or muddy. Certainly not the washed out image I recall from the cinema. However I do think the franchise needs rethinking for future releases.

So I finally watched this film this past Saturday, and overall, I can say that I thought it was okay.

The whole Idominus Rex thing did the dinosaur hybrid thing better in the last film, the whole scale feels so much smaller than the first film, and the general plot of the film is nothing to write home about.

I would give this film a weak 3 out of 5 as a rushed out popcorn flick.

My steelbook had a nasty dent under one of the stickers and when I called BB to ask about exchanging it, they noticed that the price went down and refunded the difference without me even mentioning it.

If you bought it within a week it's probably doable.

It happened when she saw the dying Apatosaurus.

When I looked at the UK version a while ago there was a sleeve picture. Now there isn't (just like the US version). Are they releasing without sleeve? Or already sold out?!

And the French steelbook has A LOT of subtitles, but no English audio?

Just dropping by briefly to say how freaking amazing this one looks in 4K. I'm all about film and grain over clean digital images, but I was stunned at the clarity and texturing throughout Fallen Kingdom's UHD presentation despite an only intermittent, veeeeery subtle layer of source noise that most won't even notice. Especially with the Dolby Vision HDR grade enhancing the highlights and contrast, it looks seriously stunning.

One of the best discs I've seen this year.

So why exactly is this title with DTS:X ?
In the cinema it was Dolby Atmos,
so where did it disappear to ?

Why not put both formats on the disc, so in that way everybody's happy.
But no, they rather sell less discs...
...go figure

So unless my HW-K950 gets a DTS:X update,
I won't be buying any discs that have DTS:X on it.

What's wrong with DTS-X audio? I thought the audio is pretty decent too

Yeah, I almost ordered as soon as I saw it in the deals banner, but BF is less than a month away so I didn't pull the trigger.

Is that a known fact? Or your best guess?
