Well, Revenge of the Sith didn't take place over 20 years. What we saw in the film was literally just the start of the Jedi purge, and Anakin killed plenty of adult Jedi to get to the younglings (which we see in the surveillance video that Obi-Wan views). That was more of an execution, Vader did the hunting over the next few years.

As Obi-Wan explained to Padme, Anakin was deceived by a lie. Sidious knew he was already desperate to save Padme from dying, after a similar vision about his mother came true. Desperation leads people to extreme actions, and some of the time, those actions are horrifying. When Anakin cut Mace's hand off, he had no idea Sidious would kill him. When that happened, Anakin believed he'd gone too far for the Jedi to ever forgive him. It was a dangerous mix of desperation, bitterness, and a lust for power.

Film is a form of creative art. All good forms of art have depth beyond what you see on the surface. If you think that the scriptwriters and that director's don't put this kind of thought into their creations because, "it's just a movie" you are sorely mistaken. Motivations and character depth is as important in a film as it is in a good or cherished novel. You wouldn't exclaim "it's just a novel" when literature is examined would you? Or "it's just a painting" when someone examines a prized painting would you?

The bottom line is that is all he did! Killed a few kids...that's it! He didn't hunt down and kill anyone.

He massacred a bunch of adult Jedi at the Temple to reach those kids, killed them, then murdered Nute Gunray and his cohorts on Mustafar. One murder is bad enough, but Anakin's desperation and rage basically turned him into the Grim Reaper with a lightsaber.

Walt I would disagree with you on that one. The remaining Jedi masters were the council according to Episodes 1-3. We never saw a hint of ANY other Jedi aside from this in the movies. The clone wars may have expanded on this I did not watch them so idk from that standpoint. From a movie Standpoint Grevous killed 4 Jedi after a good bunch were killed in AOTC. We also never see any adult masters in any of the clips lying dead, so yes it looks like Anakin killed only Younglings.

The entire thing could have been averted had Padme just gone to see a doctor. Did they not have OBGYNs in a galaxy far far away? Anakin is so worried about her dying from a dream wouldn't you maybe take her to get a check up? I forget, then they would have realized they were having twins and it would have f**ked up the entire thing.

What do you think the largest contention is with the PT Films? It's because Lucas never shows you anything! He never showed you any "bonding" on screen with Obi Wan and Anakin. Ever bit of screen time is Anakin arguing with him. You never see Anakin being trained (Unlike Yoda and Luke) so you really cant see a bond between them at all because they never "act" like best friends so in essence you don't even care about these characters! It's all stories off screen like the nest of Gundarks. You never seen Anakin turn evil slowly its just "boom" ok im bad and I killed a bunch of kids and a few goofy looking trade federation guys. The two worst parts of the PT is 1.Everything of real character building importance happens off screen 2. The love story without any bond, connection, chemistry or love.

I hope that Episode VII is made more in the fashion of the older films special effects be damned! In fact I hope he rolls back everything when it comes to that. Special effects do not need to "drive" the story like they do in the PT.

this is Star Wars..it's a sci fi series that started off as fun but some are taking it waaaay too seriously. Time to turn off your PC's and spend more time outdoors in the real world.
