LOL, considering most of us purchased blu-rays advertised at 3/$25 at the rate of about 3/2 cents, it looks like they overcompensated for this complaint.

I have six arriving today, still leaving six more to ship (also including Chinatown). I ordered 18 titles for a total of $17.86.

Sears Canada got hit with those fines a few times in the 90s. They had their crazy ads of "Super Saturdays" and "25-50% off prices" luring people in stores.
But it was 25-50% off MSRPs which brought them down to "regular" store prices.

Yeah I am going through that right now. Have had a game sitting around at the post office and keeps saying rescheduled for delivery until the next business day without any sign of it ever getting picked up to even attempt delivery. Been getting no mail at all so obviously the normal person isn't working and they can't be bothered with a replacement. The sad thing is I don't know if this is actually better since the last time somebody filled in they kept putting stuff in the wrong slots of the community mailbox. One day even got left a parcel key to a parcel slot that was completely empty

Even dumber the post office it is sitting in is less than 10 minutes from my house so I went to it in person and they wouldn't give me the package even with proof of address and photo ID. Not like it is even some HUB that doesn't do parcel pick-ups. It is one in a Shopper's Drug Mart that I would have to go to if a parcel slip was left

Is it true that amazon no longer has a so-called "price match" policy? That's what I was told just now, was told they haven't had it for at least 6 months. Could have sworn you guys were talking about them reducing prices recently, but maybe that was BB... I never use price-match, usually can't be bothered even in B&Ms, but geez, it's for something I just ordered this a.m. And they slap a "shipping soon" on orders almost right away these days and it's hard to impossible to cancel even though it won't really ship for sometimes days (I've seen "shipping today" on orders for 3 days recently).

Sorry for the non-deals posts, but maybe this is a head-up, I'm just pissed off right now... It's not even "price-matching", it's price reduction to match their own price before even shipping.

I haven't successfully price-matched anything at Amazon.ca. I've submitted lower prices through their online system, but nothing has ever come out of it.

I have, however, used Amazon.ca to price match at other retailers. Easiest to price-match is at Best Buy.

amazon never had a price match policy. they have a link on each item page were u can tell them about a lower price and sometimes they will match it. but they have no official u call em up say such and such store has it cheap will u match it type price matching.

they also wont do price protection they did do this for a while if it was within 7 days but they stopped doing this a few months back. if something drops after the item ships. u pretty much have to refuse the package and re order or return it and re order. or just live with it. if u want price protection u have to buy from walmart or best buy.

^ Like I said, it's not a "price match", that's with another vendor, it's their own price that is lower a few hours later. I'm trying to get the reduction on an item that hasn't shipped, but can't be cancelled. Ordered this morning.

Normally I wouldn't care, but amazon's price was already significantly higher than another local vendor's, but I have never dealt with that other vendor for heavy/large items so was waffling and decided to go with the known entity (amazon). An amazon credit would have been nice, that's what they used to do if you called in with some "complaint" (remember those days??).

And they *did* have a "price lowering" policy, another rep just verified it, and apologized that they didn't anymore. She's been there for 2 years and said they cancelled it some time during her tenure (she remembers it) due to abuse. People used to talk about it here all the time. I think it was 7 days you had...I never used it myself.

Now they only price-match TVs. Well, now I know. As mentioned, I can't be bothered to use price-matches or coupons anymore, I hardly ever do the mail-in rebates either, unless it's $25 or something (they take months to get fulfilled usually).

The other thing I learned today: never order from amazon early in the morning, wait until noon here. I would have saved a fair bit. (Except for some Criterion gliches and a few others, there the west-coasters have an advantage.)

I wonder if CP employees are doing a shit service protest because of the whole crap about canceling door to door?

On that note. Still no movies today yet a full mailbox of many bills including one due in 7 days. Plus...a Christmas card from someone who lives in my city.

Like Great Greg suggested. I might go the office route or even ship to local postal office going forward. It's across the street at my local grocery store. 5-7 minute walk.

My CP service is pretty fantastic

It's third-[arty carriers Amazon uses who drop packages at the front door and don't even give a courtesy door-bell ring. Still though, no damages to speak of.

Canada Amazon.ca Black Friday deals

Scored big time on Black Friday with "The Complete Bond" box set for $60. I originally saw it at Costco for $100 a few years back.

This one included the latest "Spectre Movie"

Interesting, Once Upon a Time In The West is the only remaining title and I'm half surprised they didn't wait to stock it before shipping these all out together.
Received these five Blurays today, all in great shape. One to go!

Just got a shipping notice for 5 of my 6 Blu-rays! These will be arriving on Friday:
Laura
In the Heat of the Night
Death Wish
The Graduate
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

But the movie Once, while it hasn't shipped yet, is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday of next week.

Looks like a good portion of mine finally started shipping. Some of the orders are broken up and going out individual. Not sure why I'm getting multiple, separate packages per day. You would think they would have smart enough systems to combine them into a single shipment.

Yesterday, I got Cloverfield and Ghost.

Today, I'm scheduled to get Marathon Man, Series of Unfortunate Events, Eurotrip, Congo, Trading Places, Demolition Man, Midnight Cowboy, Leaving Las Vegas, Fantastic Voyage, and Ice Age.

My final order is still scheduled for Feb 2-ish delivery but my copy of War and Peace shipped today, so should arrive tomorrow.

Question, has anyone who ordered it received their copy of Once upon a time in the West? that's the lone holdout from my first order. And I ordered it pretty early in the game, like Boxing Day morning. Just curious.

I received my copy from the sale, earlier before the price glitch. Don't know if that's helpful or not.
