Hi Damon,
Just used it. Came out to $25 u.s. plus small shipping charge. Most titles I also had but was able to get much cheaper than anywhere else Nightmare Before Christmas 3d and steelbook Ghostbusters 3D. Wasn't looking to buy Ghostbusters since it wasn't rated great by many as a comedy (heard 3D was great) but it was best of the lot and both together around the same price as Nightmare by itself. Funny thing. Had to cancel first order. Zavii said Nightmare 2D was region b and 3D all region. Thought that meant number of discs and saw the 3D version had just two discs. Only then realized what it really meant! ![]() |

![]() ![]() The first few minutes made me believe there were good 3d moments to come, but it didn't really happen. The 3d was a solid medium throughout, too bad the movie was so awful. |

go to zavvi.com, make sure country is set to United Kingdom in the upper right corner, then scroll down a half page and click on the big ape face "3D - 2 for 20". |

I came upon a 3D copy of The Avengers at Amoeba--disc only, no cover art or anything--for $8. I also found a 3D copy with everything, including the slipcover, for $15. I saved a few bucks and just bought the disc, since I obviously already own the 2D version.
I sense it'll haunt me for a while... I feel I should've picked up that complete, slipcover copy... |

Well, in my heart, I know I WANTED the lenticular slipcover and stuff, but at the end of the day, I'm watching the 3D or 2D content, not the cool packaging. At least I saved some dough?
Hmmm... No matter what I tell myself, I still kinda wish I bought the $15 used copy. ![]() EDIT: There may be something wrong with me, but I went back and exchanged my disc-only for the "full" slipcovered edition! I am a sick person!! Last edited by shane01; 02-12-2017 at 02:57 AM. |

Just watched Little Hercules in 3D
![]() Am amazingly bad film, and for that reason not without entertainment value. The acting is embarrassingly poor, with only the black actors seeming to make any kind of effort. John Heard, Elliot Gould, Judd Nelson and Diane Venora seem to be acting like they are in some kind of pantomime, they're worse than the wrestlers. WWE fans will enjoy seeing Hulk Hogan as Zeus, ruler of Olympus going up against Paul "Big Show" Wight as Marduk, ruler of Babylon. I was expecting Hades but hey ho, that's what Babylon is standing in for here. Both Olympus and 'Babylon' are rendered in quality that would shame a Playstation, but that's part of the film's charm. Indeed, those sequences are where the 3D is at its best. It isn't all good though, so much so that I wondered how much was actually shot in 3D - after all, IMDb states that this has "3-D sequences". The film starts tracking back through an attractively deep starfield, an opening that certainly caught my attention. The 3D remains strong, bringing the lame CGI effects to life, all the way until Hercules gets to Earth. Then the 3D suddenly becomes barely noticeable, like those autoconversions where everything has just been pushed back into the screen a little. For a while, there are no 3D thrills but then Hercules starts throwing things out of the screen and the strong 3D comes back briefly before we're in autoconversion territory again. The 3D comes back for a Playstationy sequence in Babylon (with a pop out pterodactyl), disappears again and then comes back again strong for the finale with the starfield making a welcome return at the end. I enjoyed the 3D a lot in this film, I just wish it had all been shot in 3D. The disc was a bit glitchy on my PS3 though, after it finished the menu froze up and wouldn't allow me to restart the film, even after taking the disc out and putting it in again. I had to select the title manually on my remote in order to get it working again. |

I was very disappointed in Monsters Inc. Heard such good things and even read reviews that the 3D was nice. Just my opinion but the 3D was barely noticeable and I'm not simply talking about "pop outs". It even seemed to lack the depth I have become accustomed to. The story line was rather dull as well.
One of those movies I kinda wished I didn't buy (like "Brave", that's one I think will be heading for ebay) Now the silly, over-the-top "Cats and Dogs", I was pleasantly surprised. I do not like talking animal movies (Example, I prefer the original 1963 "Incredible Journey" to the '90's crappy remakes). The 3D in this was excellent throughout which actually made me ignore the idiocy of the plot and the talking animals. I would not watch it in 2D but the 3D definitely makes this movie a keeper. I bought it for the cheap price and to ad to our collection. I can say I am pleased with this purchase. ![]() |
