Some commendable work but I am not sure what common theme these movies have?

I am making a space saver six movie pack for myself right now that all feature one of my favorite actresses in movies right bnow (Kate Mara) but even that is a stretch because she doesn't headline any of them.

I think you would be better served making separate covers for each movie.

I stated in a previous post that these Blu-rays, except Step Brothers and Terminator Salvation, were sold to me from Steelbook collectors who had no use for the discs since they were Region B locked. Right now, I have them stashed away in other Blu-ray cases with other movies.

Finished my recent contribution to a Chinese Steelbook forum. If it gets picked they will produce a limited run with it. (My very first Steelbook.)

Probably too late, but no big deal.

You know, you're right about the white. I won't go for pure white, but maybe I should have brightened the letters considerably. I go on and on about legibility but sometimes ignore my own advice. The lettering looks plenty legible in fullsize when I work on it on my monitor, but when you shrink covers down for preview size, problems like this become evident. Sometimes you just have to take a step back and appraise the piece as a whole.

Actually, we used to do this in my design class. Everyone's work was hung up on the wall and the teacher and students took turns critiqueing the other's work. From a distance you could see all the messed up blocking of the lettering or skewed compositions much better. The public critique also toughened our skin.

You should Nissen. I do all my WIPs at Euphoricfx and received some great advice (mostly from Imrahil2001 but also the mods over there) in putting together my covers. I find it a very friendly environment with some extremely talented individuals.

I worked my "Flash Gordon" cover through its many versions over there and is where I currently am attempting a 007 cover template so I can have my 007 Blu-rays (current and not-yet-released) all in a uniform format with poster art on the cover.

You are tenacious (That's a good thing). I hope you're having fun.

Front:
These images go better together now that you've included the Ip Mans instead. Now, the only one that really sticks out (in a bad way) is Pulp Fiction. Maybe you could try and find an image that has the same tone and texture as the others on the front.
Also, maybe you could break it up a bit, and have the titles on the movies alternately left and right orientated.

Back:
Structured and legible like I like, but I'm missing a bit of air around all the elements. Everything seems too cramped in. You could factor in a wider margin around the cover's edges, especially at the top and bottom.
What you could do, to set the titles of the movies apart from the rest of the text, is to have the titles in a different colour.

Also, the spacing between the blocks of text is uneven, but you may not have gotten to that yet. While you're at it, check the grammar of the resumé of the Ip Men.

Spine:
I see you've added some texture to the background. I like it. Maybe you could try wrapping the blue around from the back, to tie the spine into the design?
The font seems a bit bland (Calibri? Arial Rounded?) You may want to go for something bolder, with fatter type in a colour that stands out from whatever background you end up with. Plain white will look good against the blue from the back. The Blu-ray logo is too big, too close to the edges. I'd leave a little breathing room around it.

And the title you've chosen for the collection is underwhelming. Go on, have some fun with it, something grand. "Orlando Eastwood's Fabolous Film Show: The Beginning!" Ahh, you know what I mean.

Yeah, I'm considering joining, but will it prevent me from offering my covers for download here? Free for all? I'm dubious about any sort of exclusivity clause or some such.

These two were commisions, so I'm not at liberty to share them with anyone. I just wanted to show them off.

For Terror in the Aisles I found a good-sized poster on Wikipedia. It had some folds I removed using the clone tool. It was a bit tricky with all the text, but whenever a crease crossed a letter I just cloned the entire letter from somewhere else.

What took the longest time was to replicate and expand the text from the skull into the general background. I found a listing of the films featured in this documentary on the Wiki page and copied that as text into a text layer in Photoshop. Matching the beginnings and endings of words where they intersected the titles on the skull took some legerdemain. It's pretty close, but not perfect, so I blended the edges to conceal the transition.

In the end, the client preferred an all black background, but I am showing my original version here. The specs won't be finalized until the movie comes out.

I offered to make a version of the US Skynet edition of T2 with the Ken Taylor poster for a forum member. I think the poster is very cool, but I wouldn't have picked it for a cover myself. (Mostly because you can never make a matching set for the rest of the films.)

I used only the colours found on the poster for the logos and lettering. Red on black is usually dynamite (like the A-team van and Knightrider!) so the choice was obvious. I had to choose the back stills carefully so as not to clash with the colour scheme of the cover.

I've started retyping all the legal small print on my covers, individualizing it for each film and it just gives them that little extra polish. I feel I'm starting to get the hang of the backs. The trick is not to try to cram too much into them. You'll note there's no recap for the movie on there, as the extras are the main attraction of the Skynet edition anyway.

Taking commissions is a good way of diversifying, doing covers I otherwise wouldn't do for myself.

Okay, so I wasn't completely done with Star Wars after all :-)

These are inspired by the mock-up covers that were used as placeholders on Amazon etc. when the Blu-rays were just announced.

I thought they looked okay and found it a pity they weren't used, so I just made some myself. I tried soooo hard to make a cover with a simple background colour, but in the end I just couldn't resist adding some texture to it. I'm a slave to textures :-)

This is as simple a cover as I'm ever likely to make. I didn't even sign them.

A third cover for the extras discs is coming up in a day or two.

They'll fit a regular 3-disc case, so anyone who wants them can PM me for High Rez files.

No need to apologize, we don't mince words here. I deserved that after calling out your "custom" cover. I'll endeavour to do better in the future and live up to the high standards I've yet to reach.
Welcome to the forum, my friend.

Pulp Fiction images were rough. Some of them looked either highly saturated or too soft. I finally found one that looked all right. Now with the spine, I've tried to put the titles on there, but there was some problems and I couldn't fit TDTES'08 underneath Babylon A.D. and so I ended up placing Goemon below it. The back text might be completely removed and I might try to fit poster frames for all six movies and have the time and MPAA rating below it.

Edit: New Back:
