Dark Force's Facebook did a mini-feed of the glow-covers for Gates and Breeders. The thing that makes their covers so nice, for me, isn't the glow-in-the-dark thing but, rather, that they're high gloss. They catch the light and look really nice sitting, face-out, on the shelf. That Breeders cover is going to look very pretty next to my little Dead Pit and Elvira.

Second thing was an announcement of an impending live-feed, which will begin after sundown on the west coast, but before I go to bed. (He didn't say "before miribeau goes to bed" but, like I always say, ask nicely and see how nice David DeFalco can be in return. (I also say that about pretty much everyone else, because most people respond to kindness with kindness.) And, since I really like the live-feeds, my crappy day of still dealing with the fallout from another stupid leak, not even in the house where the first ones happened, just got its silver-lining. Thank you Dark Force.

I nearly replied to that slipcover video asking if he planned to include white gloves with the titles as they really do look all sorts of glossy in the video he posted and I would expect them to be fingerprint magnets. All 3 did look nice though. Worth whatever premium he plans to charge? Absolutely not, but nice nonetheless.

You’re right, it is. I was too subtle before and I’m sorry.

You can watch the live feeds for free. Almost the same thing, no?

Last night was kind of fun. As Bill and Doug carried on a conversation via cellphones Demon flexed for the camera. No matter how much he flexed he could not keep the lights on.

Anybody else ready to see glowy glow-covers? It should be dark enough for them to work by now. Is it? I actually want to see what they look like.

Anybody else ecstatic to spend $40+shipping on “glowy glow-covers” printed on cardboard featuring a transfer that doesn’t even promise to look better than previous dvd releases that comes bundled with a movie (that unlike The Farmer) nobody’s been asking for?

These are exciting times

There's one winding up right now, if you want to watch when it posts in a few minutes. Bill talked about the number of people who will buy it and David showed the two new covers. From what I saw, they did a nice job on them and they definitely give the appearance of being part of a series, when seen together, very much like the VS slipcover line, where you can tell which company's slip you are looking at upon seeing it, even though it doesn't have a label, like that slipcover-killing Vestron logo. (I love the Vestron series but I hate that they put a logo on the face of their slips, so their releases can never be rotated into the ones that are facing out for a season or two.) David is definitely going for a clear, label-specific appearance and it looks good. Bill sounded a little sleepy. Me too. I'm going to bed.

I was one of the lucky ones that got the rare opportunity to purchase The Dead Pit. It only cost me $50 and came with a free Point Doom coaster for my beer. It only took dozens of attempts after playing the store game and losing numerous times. Not having a scheduled release time and being mislead multiple days by David about it going up really added a fun challenge. A very pleasant experience it was picking up a Code Red release.

It's a shame such a thin/low quality cardboard stock is used for these slipcovers. For a highly sought after, never done before collectible such as this, you would expect more. By the time I put the movie away the next day, the weight of the embossing on the slipcover has already started warping it in a U shape. Glow-in-dark is alright, but why are a couple of the reaching hands glowing and not the rest? Not sure how that would get by QC. The black glossiness makes finger prints stand out, but I haven't had an issue since there is no way I would touch something this rare and one of a kind with my greasy bare hands. I only wear 100% microfiber gloves when touching something as priceless as this. I plan to retire on my copy of The Dead Pit and The Carrier in the future.

Video and audio are good, but this is a collectible site, so none of that matters. Another great release by Bill. Oh wait.. why am I posting this in the Dork Force thread?

If DF's considering selling the GoH slip by itself, how about also selling the blu by itself, for fans who just want an HD Psycho From Texas and aren't interested in the all limited collectors' stuff?

I'm sorry to mention our poor departed bretheren, but didn't Ruined mention a lower tier/non dustcover version coming at a later date? He may have been talking out of his ass as usual, but I do remember seeing that somewhere.

Let's have moment of silence for our big toe .....

errrr....NO

Sucks when I movie you like gets handled like a turd.

Unclear what it going on with TEXAS anyways.
DF is paying coy about it when asked, rumor is it's an upscale of the CR transfer, with some color work.

DF's own comments and then retractions have led some to believe this to be the case, otherwise why not dispel the rumor? His comment when pressed for info indicates more double talk.

He has posted no images or clips from TEXAS. Why?

If it is, we'll know by the off center credits ( CR transfer is misframed ).
