That's too bad. I have not had that problem.

The reset didn't help? Over the years, I had had to reset a couple times and that seem to fix what was going on with mine.

Is it the same terminals for 7.1?

If so, swap to 7.1 to see it is an amp issue(fixable) or processor(not possible).

You mean instead of assigning the amp as heights, run them as the backs? The heights and back terminals are the same.

That is exactly what I mean.

If it is the amp stage it can possibly be fixed.

But, no chance if it is the board.

Don't even have to move the speaker, just swap set up and check for noise.

Since moving house my Denon AVR has developed a problem with the multi-channel in. It's an old 2805 (UK model). I used to have my Oppo multi-channel outs connected, using the Denon purely for volume control and no processing.

However since my move, obviously unplugging cables and plugging back in, the sound from the multi-channel in always overrides whatever is selected, whatever the input and whether or not I selected Ext-In, it also plays very loud and the volume control does nothing to it.

It's as if it suddenly turned into a proper power amp.

Everything else works fine.

New AVR time (assuming I want HD audio again)? It's not worth a great deal so I can't see it being worth replacing components.

Any help much appreciated

Thanks,
Paul.

That is a really great suggestion. Cannot believe I didn't think of that. As soon as I get a chance I will give it a try. Thanks.

Nope.

The only two, so far, announced 2015 are the Pioneer 830/1130.

Don't know what country you are in...but current(2015 release) are X30 in the US.

So far...as Pioneer...530, 830 and 1130.
As Elite...the 91.

Curiously...no mention of DTS X...

I'm in the U.S. and was responding regarding Denon. Not only have I seen the 2015 models, I bought the 710 (DTS:X capable.)

Just looking for a bit of advice..
We had a big thunderstorm here, nearly shaking the house, after one particular rumble, my Denon 1612's HDMI output stopped, not working,, when i switch it to the tuner or start up the playstation,, i can hear the start up / Radio , but nothing is displayed on the TV.
Ive tried changing out the cables, using different inputs on the TV,,even reset the processor, but nothing worked.
Everything is plugged into surge protectors, and none of my other electronics have problems ( tivo, Bd players, ps4, pc's ).
Reckon its time to look into another receiver or is it worth trying to get it repaired?

I was thinking about the S710, but after reading this I'm leaning towards the X1200.

The x1200w sounds pretty decent. I picked up the s710w today, i havent hooked it up yet but i think it will cover all my needs . Buying a receiver definately isnt an easy decision though, there are so many brands and varying reviews, it can get pretty crazy. I think i did pretty good with this one though for my first receiver.

I'm sure it will be great. My first receiver is dying after 7 years and that is what brought me to the Denon. After my experience with the issues with the Onkyo 606, the three year warranty of the 1200 is a big factor for me. Enjoy!

I was gonna go for the 710 but managed to get the X2100 for $329.
Kinda glad i did, due to me damn cable box not talking properly to the receiver,, which its fixed by either using composite cables going to the receiver or buy using a HDMI switch ( mines on its way).
Either way,both receivers are great.
