Going through my amazon.com wishlist, looks like Laurence Anyways is OOP too. There's a few new copies left for $30 a used copy for $10, but Wal-Mart are selling it for $50, and Breaking Glass' webstore only has the DVD and the Blu-ray page deleted.

There is a Canadian Blu-ray for cheaper, with the deleted scenes (and a French language commentary with no subtitles - Mommy was similar), but the US release is region free according to the database and features a feature length MOMA interview with Dolan.

I think $30 was the regular price for the American BD of Laurence Anyways. It's sold directly through Amazon, they say they only have 2 copies left...

I have the Canadian BD, unfortunately I don't know if it's region free. I have all his films on BD, except Les amours imaginaires, which is only on BD in Italy and Japan, each with no English subs, I only have a DVD of that

Does anyone understand what’s going on with the Cohen media releases of Buster Keaton’s films?

Vol 1 and 4 are still in stock at Amazon and on Kino Lorber’s website. But volumes 2 and 3 are gone.

I actually made an order for Vol 2 recently and Amazon just emailed me letting me know they aren’t sure when they will get more in stock. Are these officially OOP? Should we be worried about 1 and 4 as well?

The Canadian Blu-ray for "Laurence Anyways" is region A locked, unfortunately.

I wouldn't worry too much yet, Cohen has always been pretty bad about letting discs completely sell out before doing new pressings, I don't imagine Covid made them any better about it.

I've always been hesitant to upgrade my 4 Xavier Dolan DVDs because I have a sneaking suspicion that he might get a UK box set treatment from BFI or Artificial Eye (like the Kore-Eda, Atom Egoyan, and Herzog sets).

I'm basing this on absolutely nothing, but just a gut feeling.

I love The Salesman and am really glad I bought it on eBay a few years ago since it's never really gone on sale (I know someone posted about it yesterday).

I wonder if Criterion has physical media rights to some of these films. Love & Friendship and Wiener-Dog would be great additions, as well as The Salesman. They have Cold War in their catalogue, so it's a possibility. Not having high expectations though.

Wonderstruck was an MOD BD-R. It has cycled in and out of availability at Amazon. It was gone for most of last year, but reappeared at the beginning of this year, as I remember. It may not be gone forever.

That said, it's an atrocious transfer. It looks like a 1990s quicktime movie, iti's so pixely. It's a shame, it's a gorgeous film.

I'm glad to live in Region B where a lot of these are pressed and have special features produced for them. So at least US folk could import them but of course import costs can add up and it's not always as convenient as getting a local release.

Gone everywhere, going for crazy prices on eBay - $60 to $100 for actual completed auctions.

I don't remember that ever being on Kino's "going OOP soon" list, unless I'm wrong....

It's always interesting to me when titles like these start going for $50+. Like, OOP or not, it's weird. Who wants Deceived that bad? Is it anybody's favorite movie?

It's a totally forgettable, generic, early 90s thriller. It wasn't particularly popular, just middle of the road fare. It's just fine. It came and went and I'm sure the original release wasn't some huge seller for Kino. No memorable performances/lines, no awards, doesn't look all that impressive visually. There's no cult fan base for it. Yet it can go for $100 shortly after going out of print.

Physical media never fails to amaze though. It's pretty cool.

Yeah, I have always liked Goldie even though I don't own any of her movies. I saw this with my sister when it first came out and the only thing I can remember about it is her running down a dark hallway (Goldie, not my sister). A lot of people wanted to see her in a dramatic role (including my sister) but yeah, it was completely forgettable. It is a shame too. I would like to have seen her move onto more challenging roles....
