Unfortunately I don't see any shows in IMAX near me. I've got 3 IMAX theaters within a half hour drive of me, and none are listing any Eva IMAX showings on the 30th, only the December dates on standard screens. And when I go directly to the theater websites, they only list their screenings out about two weeks, so I will have to wait another two weeks to see if any have Eva scheduled for IMAX. Most likely they won't be showing it in IMAX around here.

It'd be nice if the Boeing IMAX here in Seattle did a showing of it. It's the only true IMAX in WA state. Obviously it's not necessary because it's not filmed with IMAX cameras, only "optimized" for it, but it'd still be awesome. I'm just not a fan of those tiny ass LIEMAX screens.

Unfortunately, this will probably only be exclusive to chain theaters :/

I'm in Philadelphia for crying out loud and the closest IMAX showing is in Northern New Jersey? Gthoh. Hopefully they're still adding screenings because it's hard to believe that there's no interest for it here.

a close friend of mine in New York is also looking out for a New York IMAX showing and so far the only one is in New Jersey, which is just plain silly.

For real, it'd be a damn shame if they don't have a screening at Lincoln Square. That IMAX screen is amazing.

Ah well, if I don't get to see it in IMAX, I guess I'll just have to wait for the Blu-ray and watch it in the FreyMAX theater in my basement, on the 120" projection screen - my front row seating is at a 1:1 ratio of distance to screen width, so it appears the same relative screen size to the eyes as sitting in an IMAX theater about half-way back.

Looking for screenings around Chicago was what led me to discover that they actually closed down the Navy Pier IMAX last year. Don't know how I missed that.

I have only been to an IMAX theater once but was a little disappointed in the tiny theater seats so I never went back lol

It is hard to go back once you get used to recliners.

We're lucky here in Australia that our rebuilds look pretty consistent

Though this will undoubtedly change with 3+1.
Even if Madman releases it here and even if it is in a similar form, the Madman logo will most likely be replaced with the Crunchyroll logo, as can be seen in some recent releases like Haikyu and Ranking of Kings

Madman getting bought by Sony or whoever the other year sucks.
Anything released by Funimation/Crunchyroll in the US just gets directly imported here and they just slap our age rating on the cover as a sticker, anything not from them in the US at least gets specifically made for here, though now with the Crunchyroll logo.
What's weird about the Ranking of Kings example is that it is a Funi/CR release, but it looks like we're getting a specific version for here too?
I don't get it.

Got the UHD-reading drive just now

It's the Verbatim 43888 (rebadged Pioneer) and was about €100 from Amazon DE.

Gimme that Eva 4 UHD now bro!

Didn't know that Pioneer drives have LibreDrive support now. I'll need to keep that in mind for when my LG drive dies.

I would've bought a slot-in Pioneer drive for almost twice as much if I hadn't noticed this one by accident on Saturday.

This is my third Verbatim drive. They all look exactly the same, except this one has USB-C out on the back. I only bought the second one a year or two ago because the disc hub broke off

I recently got another LG as a backup from Amazon JP for around 7000 yen, had to side-load another drive's firmware but it worked as a Libredrive just fine after that.

The Netflix dub makes me upset about the different dub we got for the rebuild films.

Did anybody else receive an e-mail today from GKIDS telling you that they're releasing an extremely limited final batch of remaining stock for the Ultimate Edition on November 11 at 3:00 P.M. Eastern Time? I don't have $350 to blow on a whim, so I share this info for everybody who's interested. Apparently, it will also already include the corrected disc 5, so you don't have to request one separately. Also, it appears that you have to access the listing with a password (EVANGELION) when it's available.

As much as I like collecting Evangelion home video releases there's simply no way that the Ultimate Edition is worth even half of its asking price, especially if you don't value the "classic" dub (or any English dub, for that matter).

Of course I would love to have the 170-page book that it ships with (which is a straight translation of the one found in the 2015 JP Blu-ray set), but that's pretty much the only thing about the UE that I would actually pay money for beyond what's already included in the standard 5-disc release.

I would be tempted even though I don't think its worth $350. However, there's no way I can swing it this month as I'm buying family and friends Xmas gifts, plus that $350 is going towards a new graphics card in my PC. I also have some other anime I want to pick up during the RS sale and I have the Collector's Edition including my old Platinum thinpak already so that will have to do.

If it was January it might be a different story (maybe its for the best that it isn't, heh ). Oh, well I'm sure it will sell out fast, the scalpers alone must be drooling.
