It's certainly not a bad idea. It'll be a significant power boost. I look forward to hearing your impressions.

Hi, i got a question, can i use a Polk Monitor 30 with the VSX-23TXH Receiver, it output 110w and the speakers supports up to 100w, so the speaker is gonna burn or it´s fine because the receiver output all of his power only at the maximun level?.

Thanks.

You will be fine. That 100 watts is at peak performance. Just because the VSX-23 states 110 watts, that doesn't mean it is actually pushing that much power to all of your speakers (whether it is 5 or 7) either. I have the Monitor 30's as my rear surrounds with my SC-05 that can push almost 140 watts with 7 channels running. I would really need to push the hec out of the SC-05 just to get in the neighborhood of 100 watts getting to my Monitor 30's.

Anyone happen to know if SC-27 firmware updates can be passed via USB? The manual doesn't specifically mention such things, just pics...

Thanks.

Default It happend again.

I have the VSX-23THX and this is the second time it has happened. I will be watching a Bluray or Playing PS3 and when I switch to Dish I loose my audio. Normally it happens when I try to watch an SD channel and the HD have audio but then I loose both. I turn the receiver of and on and the problem is gone. Should I return this puppy to the store? Here is the thing I really dont trust the Dish network receiver's with witch I have had many problems with. The particular model is the Dish Vip 622. I bought the receiver from Value Electronics and Im not sure if what there return policy is, Plus not sure if I passed the 30 return period if in fact that is the problem. What do you guys suggest, This has only happens with the Dish receiver that I just got less then a month ago to replace one that had a faulty HDMI port.

Since the Dish Network box has caused previous trouble, I recommend calling the place where you bought it right now and find out what the return policy is. Exchange it, and then give it a few days with the new box to see what happens. If the problem you described happens again then exchange your VSX-23.

I see no information suggesting this can be done yet. I'll keep my eyes open. If you got a laptop you could work this out.

I researched this too. Seems other people are experiencing this phenomenon. And the workaround is to simply restart all devices to regain handshake. I agree the best course is to contact tech support.

I am pretty sure Irrob is correct...I think the only way to update the receiver is using the LAN interface...read this link if you are interested....link

Coming from an Onkyo 605 (yes, it is a lesser model and not far to compare the two) but I couldn't believe the natural sound that the Elite's provide. I felt the depth and realized clarity throughout the 7 channels that I hadn't experienced to that degree before. However, it did reinforce my desire for better speakers too......

There's nothing like spending money to make you want to spend more money.
