Added Amazon's Ted promotion to the OP. (credit to MvRojo for his thread bringing this to my attention)

Pre-Order the blu-ray of Ted and get a ticket to go see the movie in theaters.

Bourne Legacy has specific movie cash for it $8 on a number of titles at Best Buy including all the previous Bournes and the trilogy. There were others. Maybe it was already discussed amongst all the trade and selling of movie codes, but I didn't really see it, its not on the first post, I did check there.

It was a specific Bourne promotion and not just Universal's "Summer of Action"? Since you saw it for $8 and the SoA certificate value is $10, it must be! This is the first I've heard of it. I'll keep an eye out, thanks!

If you look in the Best Buy Ad thread for this week it was mentioned in there briefly. It is $8 Fandango cash for Bourne movie only from what it looks like.

found it, thanks! Added to OP with known info thus far. If anyone sees additional titles (or can give me a specific expiration date or redemption site) let me know.

I am pretty sure you use fandango.com to redeem and the expiration date is 8/31/12.

The promotion is already being "pushed"

The blus are 9.99. I highly doubt they will go any cheaper. DVDs were 7.99

both come with $5 toward a Ice Age ticket.

Horton hears a who, all ice age movies in DVD/blu forms.

Cool - I didnt know. I havent been in a BB in a while. I just know that there have been times in the past where discs with Movie Cash have been full price (or close to it) and then like the week the movie comes out they are deep sale-priced.
Glad to hear they're starting earlier this time around.

perhaps the cashier was entering it incorrectly?

Or by chance was the ticket price higher than the voucher value? If so they have to specify the voucher amount first or it tries to authorize it for the full ticket price, which of course will not go through.

Yeah, I saw some of the Bourne cash today at BBY as well. There were the first three Bournes, Mummy, and some other stuff. I thought I saw The Mummy at $7.99, but didn't really read it since I still have a SoA $10 code left.

I guess I have a related question.

Does anybody know if I cancel the pre-order, will they charge me for the promo movie ticket?

I initially pre-ordered MIB3 (2D) through Amazon and got the promo code.

Then I got MIB3 3D in my GB and pre-ordered that, as I would prefer the 3D combo pack instead. (No additional promo code came, BTW, as I think it is limited to 1 per account).

Later I cancelled my MIB3 (2D) pre-order as I don't want both combo packs.

I looked in the terms and it says:

"If you return the qualifying items purchased to obtain the promotional code, we will subtract the value of promotional code from your return credit."

I am not technically returning the item, I'm canceling the pre-order. Plus, they never charged me in the first place, since they only charge when they ship.

Does anybody know what will happen since I canceled the pre-order? Will they charge me $10 when the release date comes to compensate for the promo code? I haven't used the promo code.

Thanks.

Good quEstion. Logic would say they charge you or everyone could preorder and get the free movie and the cancel the preorder. I thought I read they don't charge you though, but I've never done it personally, so I can't confirm it's true.

they won't charge. you're doing a PRE-ORDER. you never paid them any money and it's a pre-order incentive. just like the steelbooks at best buy. you never even PAID them any money so you won't be RETURNING anything, thus you won't get charged.

Interesting, might be time to look into those preorder incentives on Amazon. That's why at Bestbuy you buy the preorder incentive steelbook and then they take the money off the movie (that you paid for the steelbook) when you pick it up. If you don't pick up the movie, you just have the steelbook for whatever you paid for it ($5 or $7.50 generally I think). Best Buy doesn't give you the steelbook for free whether you pick up the movie or not.

but you CAN get the steelbook free. that $5 or so money you pay is NOT for the steelbook. if you look at your receipt you pay the $5 as a downpayment on the movie and the steelbook is listed as free. if you return the steelbook you get the $5 back and are not required to return the steelbook. it's been done a million times.

I think the $5 refund for the deposit without returning the steelbook/promo item is YMMV. I'm 1 for 1 with that, with the last time being a memorable negative experience, so I haven't tried it since (getting a refund or using that deposit for something else and keeping the steelbook).

Cheers,
