Thanks for the heads up, Erasmus Craven!
Tip for opening / storing. Slide a flat, blunt knife (like a butter knife) into the gap at the top and wiggle it towards the opening edge / flap. I done this and the flap just popped open.

Once you get the discs out tuck the little side flaps inside the box and keep them like that when you put the discs back in. Now it should just pop open with a little shake (like when the cool kids who smoked at school opened their cigarette packets)

Phew! Got THE MUMMY and FRANKENSTEIN AND THE MONSTER FROM HELL in there mail today from amazon.co.uk. I have hold off the latter a year and a half because of the issue of getting a copy with the corrected disc. Amazon still has two listings for the title, so I made sure to order the one that had the latest release date.

I just opened the disc to check whether the it had the correct number as mentioned earlier in this thread, and my heart almost skipped a beat when I discovered the old number for the faulty one! I was all set to write a stern email to amazon when luckily I realized the old number was only present on the DVD copies, and the BD has the number for the corrected version.

I use a flat tweezers to similar affect. Amusingly I have the Inception set and I can't open the case, it just won't budge, I've tried forcing it but it actually ripped the thick plastic, so it's stuck in the box!

I watched most of both films and I enjoyed them, they look great.

Of the titles I mentioned on the previous thread, I've seen Plague of the Zombies, The Reptile and The Devil Rides Out, which so far is easily my favorite of the bunch.

There is a Kickstarter for a documentary about the Warner Bros years. It has some great people involved in it.

I watched the Maddie Smith interview on the Shout release of The Vampire Lovers the other day, and I have to say what an absolutely charming and self-effacing lady she is... wonderful!.

Have these releases hit a bit of a stand still? There's still plenty more to release? What about SHE, for instance?

I still have an almost complete collection of the original series at home.

When I was a kid I asked my mam to get me issue 1 when I was off school ill. She had a look through it and refused to get me it

I started to buy it from issue 9 onwards. I quickly picked up the ones I missed out on.

Great magazine with beautiful artwork.

I've got 1000s of comics. I'll keep my on Previews to see what these may be like. They need some good comic talent to pull this off.

It seems the cancelled Australian Bluray of The Nanny has actually been released in a very basic disc with no extras and only Play Movie on the menu.
I've ordered it so I'm hoping Shock have not caved in and released an upscale as the lack of a decent HD master was the reason given for the lack of the original release

The Mummy is currently £8.99 on Amazon. I patiently waited it to drop under ten pounds but it sure took some time.

I seem to remember the implication was that there was a HD master, but they couldn't access it.

Perhaps they've managed to access it now. Or perhaps they've scanned a print.

Not horror as such but reported elsewhere that Studio Canal seem to be promising One Million Years BC coming soon.
Not one of my favourites even though I'm a collector of Hammer and Harryhausen but as long as they don't screw it up and release the short version I'll get it for completeness I think.

I wouldn't think there'd be the faintest chance of that since the studiocanal DVD was the full version. If FOX was releasing it in the US then maybe we should be worried.

Man, I sure hope so! I frigg'n LOVE that movie. All this time here I thought that there WAS indeed an actual Blu-ray release...

Hopefully , but Studio Canal have released so many Hammer titles with errors of one kind or another and all their own making I won't believe it until I see it
