I'm more infatuated with the Leia figure that has a perfect Carrie Fisher likeness. Hope it goes up for preorder today or tomorrow.

Which I 100% totally agree with and mean no disrespect, but I love Fury Road so much. I want something memorabilia-wise of Tom Hardy to put next to the steelbook.

Here's a few of the Leia attempts over the years.

The latest by Hasbro is laughable:

I really like this new effort; the face still seems slightly "off", but its closer than most I've seen from another company. I wonder if Carrie had any actual design input, or if they just used the film as a reference.

I really want to get these figures, but they're just so damn expensive...argh!

What's funny is if you go to the Leia thread on the freaks board, the first two posts are negative. I think she looks great!

Yeah, they really need to consult the actors with stuff like this, to make sure the likenesses match. What's so hard about getting them for an hour or two, to do a laser scan of their face?

That's probably because the first pics from SDCC weren't crystal clear HD, and people were freaking out. Haven't seen hardly any negative comments since.

That's impossible for many of the older actors (like all of the Star Wars cast). For the ones that can do it, I'm sure flying to Hong Kong for a two hour thing isn't on many of their to-do lists.

They could do the scan in the U.S., then transfer the files to Hong Kong with a secure server.

Scanning gives you an almost perfect template but it won't accurately depict imperfections in someones skin and hair. Two things that could make or break a sculpt.

Why would someone be concerned with anything like that, on a 12-inch replica figure? Most of them have molded hair, not free-flowing like a Barbie doll...and as for the skin, you're talking about painted plastic, not a huge canvas.

There's a reason I don't buy NECA figures. It's a concern to many people

It's like when someone tells me they can't see the difference between HD and Standard.

Probably the people paying hundreds of dollars vs. $10 action figures...

I've been loathing paying Ebay prices for Fury so I'm happy to see this release. Especially since he won't be in CW.

HT is killing it with the reveals lately. Time to get a second job.
