I'm actually confused as to why Beta would be 40gbs when all indications are it's simply a few more missions, maps and a bit more content than Alpha. Alpha was 9gb, so Beta should be less than 12.

That's exactly what I thought it would be but anybody but it's smaller.than Wolfenstein by 10gb or so from what I heard. Bit surprising but as long as the quality is there, I guess nobody cares how they kept the size down.

My theory is better game compression and asset management techniques to load stuff. Howeverx I noticed actually moving into story mode, strikes and crucible was a bit too slow gor many peoples liking. They need to speed load times up. Their dynamic load screens will grow old soon after release.

I just wanted to ask. What exactly will.the stats be like for the Vanguard armoury? Thinking on it, it seems like by level 4, you will have got better gear, and stuff.

So in total, the vanguard stuff seems like a vanity item like most that within days would be redundant. I know for me, when playing the Alpha I had mismatched gear just because the stats were much better.

Seems like DCUO had a good system. Keep the stats but your looks based on whatever style gear you acquired. So you could look just like you want to. In Destiny, I think we're gonna see a lotta "copy cat" lookalikes.

It's just a pre-order incentive nothing more. That's why it might not seem very worthwhile.

If it was like the alpha, vanguard gear was level out of reach + you needed vanguard marks and a vanguard level of 3-4 can't remember.

What does the USA system do when you choose platform?

So did anyone get email regarding platform selection? I did not. Are you just going to the site and choosing? If I want to get it downloaded before the weekend, I need to get started. Though I'm suspicious I won't be able to play anyway with my connection. Just like I could barely play TLoU online last summer when all the sucky tourists were using my bandwidth.

I didn't. I just went to http://www.bungie.net/en/User/redeemedcodes when I was signed in at it gives you the option of what platform you want the Beta code for.

I was able to select the US Beta for PS4. Now I am showing the below under my redeemed codes on Bungie.net which looks correct. I did not receive any kind of email stating that the Beta reservation was active though.

Correct, no emails, you need to go to bungie and select

Playstation Store digital preorders do not require a beta code or registration process.
