2 discs. There's no DVD, otherwise it'd be 3 discs.

It's frustrating that the 2D is only 3$ less. I don't really want any 3D movies. I know I can sell the 3D version but I don't want a case that has anything 3D on it.

Sometimes the 3D version has better cover artwork than the 2D version and this is where I cave. For example Prometheus and The Amazing Spider-Man had cooler covers for the 3D versions. I have a 3D projector but no glasses. Having blurays with 3D on the cover does not really bother me.

I will admit I like the 3D cover better. Only 3D movie I have is Tangled and that is only because I wanted the movie and I got it with my DMR points.

Im opposite. I think the 2D artwork looks better

But more importantly, this isn't a Paramount release like Thor 1 was right? So is it safe to assume that this actually features disc art and not the awful generic solid colors of Paramount releases?

No, they're blue with big logos just like all the other current Disney discs.

Prefer the Target exclusive art to the regular 3D art, but it's a shame that the former isn't embossed (or at least it looks that way from the photos).

I wonder if any stores will have the 3D ver. for $19.99 on release day.

I miss the days when Disney actually had good disc art.

1. VUDU does not equal UV, see my earlier post. So if you're avoiding UV, in this instance you're clear to use VUDU.

2. What's wrong with digitalcopyplus.com? It's easy to use.

Is there somewhere that explains digital copies? If I get a digital copy that's iTunes/UV/VUDu, is that 3 redemptions, or are the others cancelled when I choose one?

Why are there multiple UV sites like flixter, VUDU, cinema now, etc. do the libraries cross share?

Then some codes activate direct, some need 3rd party websites. All very confusing.

I just don't understand the different services and how they relate to each other.

I don't know if there's some know-it-all site, but I'm sure there is. It all depends on the studio. Disney offers multiple options, but you can only pick one. Paramount offers UV and iTunes, but you get both if you want them. WB offers only UV.

The different services do cross share UV titles, as long as you have your UV account linked to your account for each services. Yes, there are a lot of accounts to be made. You can redeem UV through VUDU for instance, but it will in most cases appear in Flixster, CinemaNow, and Target Ticket. The reason for the different services is multiple retailers trying to get their piece of the pie. Disney does use their own website, digitalcopyplus.com, but it appears once you put in your DMR code, so it's easy to see and get all offers you've unlocked.

Hope I've helped!

*It's important to note again that VUDU isn't equal to UV. Disney doesn't support UV so your VUDU copy will not cross share with the other services.

If it's Disney, when they released Oz the Great and Powerful, you had to have a Disney Movie Rewards code to redeem your digital copy. This is the DMR code, not a redemption code. You'll have to get an account. (I got one to get a good coupon for Oz, and with a recent purchase, Thor 2 and Frozen, I'll be getting a free combo pack through DMR.)

You don't have to have a Disney Movie Rewards account to redeem the digital copy. They can be used like the way Sony is using their code which is used as both the digital copy code and sony rewards points. You just need to go to digitalcopyplus.com to choose your streaming service, which is not the DMR site. You do need a DMR account if you want to redeem the DMR points portion of the code.

Well I have to admit to being a little bitter over having to get the 3D version (I had decided not to after being burned on Iron Man 3 and not being impressed with TDW in theatres). I may get the Loki cover, but I'll just make the call when I see it in person. The normal cover is 26.99 here in Canada, but the Loki cover is 29.99 We'll see.... I just wish I could get the damn 2D version.

Edit: After looking at the pics of the Loki slip earlier in this thread, I'm definitely getting that. I really love the way it looks on the back too with that great one sheet poster.
