It sounds like this is not a must see in 3d so for the first time ever, I will get that sick 2d version metal pack (I always get the 3d version if available).

Just watched this, and while me and the wife thought it was Fantastic, I feel I must retract something I wrote earlier.

I found the scenes at the end to be Incredibly dark, I understand that it needed to be dark, and that it was very Atmospheric, but I was struggling to quite often see.

I of course have a Brightness button, but that shouldn't really be Necessary, Should it?

That dark eh? Sounds like a transfer issue.

I don't know, but I don't think so, I imagine the fault lies with me as although the wife found it dark, she wasn't put off by it at all. I think I'm just getting old.

This is ironic, since To 3D or Not To 3D over at CinemaBlend gave the 3D for Godzilla an extraordinarily high rating, THE movie to see in 3D in the theater this year.

Look how dark this gif is:

That's darker than most of AvP-R.

Oh no, I sure hope to God this isn't going to be dark like Alien vs. Predator: Requiem.

+1, unless theaters really overcompensated for some reason. I hope this doesn't turn into HP6 where you have to watch it in a completely black room to see anything on the screen.

Same here. I mean, it's set at night so it's not going to be bright, but all of the action was very clear in the finale.

I think the GIF is from a rip version of the film which I heard was a lot darker than the blu-ray.

The film looks far better on a television screen than it does on a computer screen. Plus when I saw the film in theaters you could see what was going on perfectly.

MetalPak = FuturePak, so yes, it's the same thing.

So, just to clarify, is the DP really against the 3D conversion?

Apparently yes.

It's not unheard of - Robert Richardson completely removed his name from World War Z when they decided to post-convert that movie.

Definitely. I don't mind how dark this film is at all. Everything is legible and it adds so much to the atmosphere. Especially when the fog comes into play. Gorgeous film.

Completely agree, It's easily the best-looking blockbuster of the year; the cinematography is impeccable.

It has more pause and drool moments, but I think I prefer the aesthetic of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes overall. It's probably a toss up.

That is exactly how the 2D Version looks, thankfully the 3D is far brighter. I could actually see what was going on.

Although I still think the 3D is Average, I'm very glad I watched it, just so I could see what was going on in the Finale.

He was trolling (as usual).
