Winter IS coming. At least a remake is.
![]() I played the PSX version with The Lion War REmixed mod installed. It's basically the best of both worlds. I don't want to spoil the story for any potential remake players.Final Fantasy Tactics makes Game of Thrones look like an episode of Hannah Montana. There are so many twists, turns and betrayals, you'd better roleplay as Machiavelli just to survive. It's a game of 3D chess...literally. The complex story is obviously trying to make up for the gameplay. Everything here is menu-based and to be honest, I didn't find it as thrilling as I did on previous playthroughs. Even running the game at 125%, it still felt slow and clunky. Hopefully the remake can address this in some way. There are some nice cameos from other FF games. Cloud and Balthier can become party members and you bump into Aerith on one map. The simple truth is that once you realize a full team of wizards with the CT ability or thieves with the Jump ability can clear out a map in one turn, there's not much point in using anything else. It's still a great game, but it's showing its age now and a remake is sorely needed. ![]() And with that, my modern day Final Fantasy journey is almost at an end. To say I've saved the best til last would be an understatement. |

All roads lead to Mako reactor 1.
![]() I played the Steam version with numerous mods installed using the 7th Heaven mod manager. Here's a list of them. All free and all made by fans who love this game. ![]() The goal was to update some of the more outdated elements of the game while still retaining the original's tone and charm. Mission Accomplished. There's not much I can say about the game that most people don't already know, so I'll gush about some of the mods instead. The standout here is the Echo/S mod. This gives voice acting to EVERY character in the game and is outstanding. Every character sounds like I always imagined they would. Barret sounds like Mr T. Cloud sounds like Solid Snake. Cid sounds like R Lee Ermey. Tifa and Aerith sound like young women and not cringeworthy 5 year old giggly little girls like the remake. The UI and backgrounds are tightened up, combat is snappier and gameplay plus FMV's run at 60fps. The only thing I didn't touch was the music. Too many memories. Once again, a passionate fanbase does what Square don't. In the words of Ron Weasley, "that was bloody brilliant". ![]() |

Re-played Super Metroid. My second time through it. I still only got the regular ending. Making use of certain tricks to do things out of sequence (only slightly) actually confused me about certain parts, so I still lost time back tracking to get things I needed (but I’m a slowpoke anyway. Had 92% completion at the end, missing seven missile upgrades and one super missile upgrade (these things had to be the “random single spot on a wall” type of moments.)

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For some reason, writer Richard K. Morgan (the guy who wrote Altered Carbon) thought it was going to take until 2069 for the world's most greedy and corrupt companies to start a war with each other. When I was playing this I was having a bad time, but now I'm finished I'm thinking "hmm, it wasn't that bad". The main problem is it's completely meh. It does nothing terrible but nothing well. It's an FPS with some basic hacking abilities thrown on top. It's a Temu Deux Ex or Cyberpunk. There was one good boss fight and one pretty good section near the end when you have to assault the company headquarters. It's short at around 6 hours and, TBH, I was glad when it was over. How on earth did they convince Michael Wincott, Rosario Dawson and BRIAN COX to be in this? Cox and Dawson even did mo-cap. ![]() |

He's the hero the world needs, but not the one it deserves right now.
![]() Bruce Willis is Trey Kincaid. The one man who can make a difference. Imprisoned for wrongthink and humanity's last hope against the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse. This game was a blast. It has a great Fortress/Running Man vibe to it. It's a twin-stick shooter like SmashTV and has a very arcadey feel. It's only 2 hours long, but it's fun from start to finish and is full of weapons that are fun to use. There's a ton of 90's cheese and a few movie references. One level is called "Escape From L.A." and at one point, Trey says to his girlfriend, "It's not a chopper baby. It's a hoverbike". The final level is an assault on the White House which culminates in a boss fight against the president, who is the embodiment of Beelzebub himself. I mean, you cant make this stuff up! I do have a couple of gripes, however. The second half of the game has a lot more platforming than the first, and it's not fun. Your perspective is constantly shifting, which makes the jumps difficult to land. The soundtrack is horrendous. ChatGPT informs me that this genre of music is called Nu-Metal. Synthwave would have suited the game more. "Yippee-ki-yay, Mr. Falcon" ![]() |

Did a successful drunk run through Double Dragon II with my brother the other night. Took a few hours because I kept messing up the platforms for the both of us but we both finally made it to the final boss together. Beat ‘em Ups are fun solo but so much better with a brother. We also tried US Streets of Rage 3 on hard and…that was a terrible idea! Might go back to the Final Fantasy XIII series next and give Lightning Returns another chance knowing better what I’m getting into. |

At Gran Pulse in Final Fantasy XIII. It’s so satisfying to pull off things like a perfect Cid Raines fight where he gets no chance to transform or get through the Eidolons in one try with whatever they give you for paradigms. Bahamut always seems like he’s on the verge of killing you immediately as you scramble for some paradigm you want. No fortisols or aegisols and I still haven’t touched the awful equipment upgrade system (the worst thing about the game but it’s only really important to use for weapons later on.) This is a solid member of my top 5, it has such a fun battle system and the music and atmosphere are just incredible.

Before the Marvel cinematic universe, there was an idea. Bring together a group of
remarkable people to see if they could create a game. That game was called. ![]() I'm playing the 2016 remastered PC version here. I did buy both games on the 360 when they were originally released but never played them. It's essentially Diablo with superheroes. There's a large roster but no Punisher, WTF! It's great, but I have a few problems with it. If you're NOT playing as Sabretooth, you are failing. His Talon Frenzy attack is the most efficient way to get through levels. It destroys adds and bosses alike. Every other character is useless compared to him. The music is terrible. It's the most stock library orchestra guff I've ever heard. There are no heroic themes or moments. Listen to the Kick-Ass soundtrack instead. It has a nice balance of comic book camp and gravitas. The graphics are great (not the cutscenes). A nice choice of costumes. A rudimentary gear and leveling system. It's full of collectibles, secret areas and side missions. If that's your thing. After you finish the game, you are treated to an epilogue which shows how the future turns out based on the side missions you completed or failed, which was a really nice touch. All I want from a game is to have fun. This was fun. Avengers A... ![]() |

Turns out they DIDN'T come back when we needed them to.
![]() I am, of course, referring to Raven Software. Vicarious Visions are the culprits responsible for this. It's nowhere near as good as the first game. It does one thing better and everything else is way worse. The character AI is better in this game. Your team is constantly using powers and there is a new team attack (fusion) system which is OK. The levels are really short. The graphics are worse. The gameplay isn't as fluid and the music is still rubbish. The story is a weird mashup of the Civil War and Secret Wars comics. The voice acting is terrible too. Captain Marvel is the go-to character this time round, which is nice. I always liked her but Marvel could never keep any momentum going in her comics. Now she's forever associated with one of the most annoying women in cinema history. Shame. No funny quips this time. Just avoid it. ![]() Last edited by Darren75; 08-30-2025 at 11:07 PM. |

Since Super Subs only activate in the second half, you'll have had time to analyze your opponent's playstyle. You can bring in a fast winger to exploit a slow fullback or a strong midfielder to regain possession in key areas.
Overall, while Super Subs aren't necessary for every squad, they provide a tactical edge that can make all the difference in competitive matches. How to Acquire Super Sub Player Items in FC 25 Ultimate Team To build a squad that includes Super Sub Player Items, you'll need to either earn them through gameplay or purchase them on the transfer market. This is where FIFA 25 Coins come into play. 1. Earning Super Subs Through Objectives & Packs EA often introduces objectives, challenges, and Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) that reward players with Super Sub Player Items. By completing these challenges, you can obtain them without spending FIFA 25 Coins. 2. Buying Super Sub Players on the Transfer Market If you want to acquire the best FC 25 Players with Super Sub boosts, you may need to purchase them with FIFA 25 Coins. Player prices fluctuate based on demand, so keeping an eye on the market can help you get the best deals. 3. Trading & Investing in Super Subs Since Super Subs are a new feature in FC 25, their value in the Ultimate Team market may change over time. Savvy traders can buy low and sell high, taking advantage of player demand to earn more FIFA 25 Coins. Best Super Sub Player Choices in FC 25 While EA has yet to reveal the full list of Super Sub Player Items, the best choices will likely include: Pace-heavy attackers – Wingers and strikers who can exploit tired defenders. Strong midfielders – Players with high stamina, passing, and tackling ability to regain control of the game. Superstar defenders – Quick and strong center-backs to solidify your defense in crucial moments. Final Thoughts The introduction of Super Sub Player Items in FC 25 adds a new layer of strategy to Ultimate Team. Whether you're looking to make a comeback, secure a lead, or simply outplay your opponent in the closing moments, these players provide a unique advantage. For those serious about competing in Division Rivals, Squad Battles, or Champions, investing in Super Subs through FIFA 25 Coins could be a smart move. On the other hand, casual players may enjoy using them in less competitive settings to experiment with different tactics. With the right Super Sub strategy and a well-managed FC 25 Players roster, you can dominate the pitch and climb the Ultimate Team ranks in FC 25. The Festive Wingback Evolution is one of the most exciting new features in FC 25 Ultimate Team, allowing players to upgrade their right backs into highly skilled, dynamic defenders. With boosts to overall stats, 5-star skill moves, the Technical+ PlayStyle, and two new Role++ upgrades, this Evolution is a must-use opportunity for FC 25 Players looking to strengthen their squad. To participate, players must meet specific requirements: the chosen right back cannot exceed 88 overall rating, and their passing, defending, and physical stats must be 89, 87, and 87 or lower, respectively. This means you'll need to be selective when choosing your upgrade. For those looking to make the most of this Evolution, here are the best right back picks to invest in using FIFA 25 Coins. Diogo Dalot (Track Stars) Overall Rating: 86 → 91 Position: RB Key Stats After Evolution: 91 Pace, 88 Passing, 88 Dribbling, 87 Defending, 86 Physical Diogo Dalot is a vital asset for Manchester United, known for his offensive contributions and solid defensive work. His Track Stars variant in FC 25 Ultimate Team makes him a strong candidate for the Festive Wingback Evolution. After completing the challenges, his stats will receive a significant boost, improving his pace, passing, and dribbling to elite levels. If you're building a squad with top-tier FC 25 Players, Dalot is a great pick. Bryan Mbeumo (Winter Wildcard) Overall Rating: 87 → 91 Position: RB (Can also play RM, RW) Key Stats After Evolution: 91 Pace, 89 Dribbling, 88 Passing, 86 Physical, 85 Defending, 85 Shooting Typically known as a winger, Bryan Mbeumo's Winter Wildcard RB card brings a unique offensive dynamic to the right back position. If you prefer an attack-minded fullback who can contribute to goals and assists, Mbeumo is an excellent choice. Every player needs a lot of EA FC 25 Coins, I suggest you go to a third-party website like MMOexp.com to buy, safe and comfortable transactions, and years of experience to ensure the security of your account. |

Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb.
![]() Batman: Arkham Origins is the 4th best Arkham game. Not because it's terrible, but because something has to be 4th. Maligned when it came out because it wasn't developed by Rocksteady and didn't feature Kevin Conroy as Batman. I'm playing the 360 version here. It doesn't have any framerate boosts and, despite running on hardware 2 generations better, it crashed 5 or 6 times. I enjoyed playing through the story, but once that was finished, I started mopping up some sidequests. That's when the problems with this game became apparent. The combat is sometimes janky as hell. Counter-attacks don't register 20% of the time. Combat upgrades are pretty uninspired. There's nothing that will change the way you play and the enemy group composition is annoying as hell. That being said, it's still a Batman: Arkham game. You feel like Batman and most of the boss fights were enjoyable. It's not a hidden gem or anything, but it's pretty good and definitely didn't deserve all the hate it received upon release. ![]() |
