So I'm guessing there's no plans for a physical release of season 3, eh?

Tried playing disc #1 of season two a few days ago, it froze up, flipped it over to discover several scratches. And it's OOP, of course.

And that disc played PERFECTLY the last time I spun it in 2019.

I'm guessing if there were, it would be part of this display? It's not looking good.

Man, it's not looking good. If nothing leaks by next week, I think it may not happen for a bit.

It's likely never happening.

It's sad. I really like the releases, but if they don't release anything by years end I'll probably sell my 4K S1&2. No point in owning 1/3 of a series

You might be right, but I hope you're not. Seems odd that they would abandon it since it seems like they released the first two seasons, but at the same time it's not that strange either. The first two seasons dropped out of the blue, but we are getting a bit too close to the 4th season premiere.

If it doesn’t drop within the next couple weeks, I think the next best thing we can hope for is a complete series set once the whole thing is all done.

There's little incentive for Netflix to draw people away from their streaming service. They are losing subscribers, and Strange Things is their biggest franchise, so it wouldn't really make sense to get people to look elsewhere to see S3 (and other seasons) leading up to S4. The first two seasons had massive overstock, and were significantly discounted, so that also doesn't bode well for any subsequent releases. I'd love to be wrong here, but I don't see it happening.

I do think there is SOME incentive. Imagine the people who don't have Netflix who want to watch these shows. They spend 30-50 bucks (3-5 months of subscription). That's money they didn't have before. And also the people who have Netflix, but want a physical copy, there's 3-5 months plus an active subscription.

I get what you're saying though, I just think it's bad business.

Bill Hunt was asked about it yesterday on Twitter and his response makes it seem like it's still happening. No idea who his sources are in this case, but we'll see.

Part 3 was kinda okay but I'd still get it to complete the collection. Hope it's a surprise drop and that's why there's been no word.

I could make a website and say it's coming, doesn't mean I'd know... but hopefully it does come. We've also got two different chances for it, one for part 1 and one for part 2. Hell, it might not even come out until after. There's no actual pattern to follow for these like a standard show.

It's always a surprise drop, because it's not from an actual studio that announces stuff. It's not like The Crown where it's made by Sony and so they do a press release, it's made by Netflix and that's why it is a retailer exclusive.

My hope is that bam, next Tuesday it's on the shelves. Last time I think we got 24-48 advance notice that it was happening when someone at Target leaked some photos. I'd imagine it would be the same way again.

This is not true. Stranger Things is a Paramount property and there have always been press releases. Watch it with the fake stuff okay?

21 Laps Entertainment and Netflix Studios produce "Stranger Things." It's not a Paramount property. The Duffer Brothers also own much of the rights as well.

The only "press releases" for the Blu-ray's so far were in the form of leaked weekly Target ad flyers.

I don't know if you're trying to make a joke or just confusing it with something else, but it is definitely is NOT a Paramount release. There's only a handful of Paramount-produced Netflix shows, and of those only The Haunting of Hill House/Bly Manor have been released on BD that I can tell, and not even many of the rest are on DVD. The only time anybody knew anything about the releases was when an employee took pictures of stock in the boxes and the Sunday before it came out when Target released their weekly ad.
