Happy Birthday, Wes!

Standard UHD cover works for me. The rest is terrible. Now give us both versions in UHD so I can be a happy camper.

Re-watching Scream 4 and Woodsboro High is incredibly caucasian. It's sure changed a lot in 10 years if we're going by the cast.

Also Samantha Carpenter would've been 14/15 during Scream 4 so she was probably a freshman.

How did I not realize? Happy birthday to one of the legendary horror filmmakers, Wes Craven!

Nice to see that the standard cover matches with the new covers for S2 and S3 as well.

Think I'll be going with the standard release. Is that a full slip case though? Getting excited for this.

Standard 4K cover looks pretty great! Now I just hope it's unrated or both cuts are included...

and it seems like it never will. It's really frustrating when you consider the Unrated cut was released on VHS and LaserDisc in the US, but they've flat out refused to release it on DVD and Blu-ray. Yeah, it's just 20 additional seconds, but that 20 seconds really adds to the kill scenes. Damn shame. It's also disheartening to hear how awesome the 35mm screenings have looked in terms of picture quality, but realizing we probably won't get anything close to that. Probably just recycled crap from the previous releases.

I have a uncut version of Scream that I downloaded years ago and put on a hard drive which I plug into my tv and watch pretty much all the time, totally abandoned my Blu-ray Disc, So basically I've got used to the uncut version and when I watch the upcoming 4K version its going to feel like something is missing.

Btw, it looks like those cover art mock-ups were posted by GeekGab on Twitter so who knows if they’re real…

There was an unrated Japanese DVD. I bought it, and later stitched the unrated scenes into the HD version.

I won’t be able to do that with the UHD, the drop in quality would be too obvious and jarring.

There is no way they just “recycle” the current transfer for Scream, it’s one of the worst HD transfers I’ve ever seen.

So was this a geekgab job or was it official? Seemed a bit intricate (showing all the different angles etc) for a geekgab job but you never know.

The artwork hasn’t been released anywhere else, but given the BD cover matches the new 2 and 3 and the 4K only has the 4K disc (which appears to be Paramount’s new thing), I’m betting it’s real.

Is this really a new Paramount thing? Releasing just a 4K disc?

Yes, for some titles from them. As far back as their 4K of Days of Thunder. Considering I haven't seen a 4K from them without a digital code, I'm still sort of skeptical this is the final cover.

I have multiple Paramount 4K releases that have just the 4K disc.
  • The newly released Almost Famous steelbook only has two 4K discs; one for each cut.
  • The Transformers box has the films in 4K only; the included Blu-rays are just the bonus features disc.
  • As another user mentioned, Days of Thunder only has the 4K disc.

Wow, what a shitty way to short change customers
by selling the blu ray separately.
