Rocky 4K UHD Boxed set - 2/28/23

Went ahead and PO'd at Amz for $59.99.

If it turns out the discs are packaged in cheap cardboard sleeves, I'll probably cancel. I hope they are in proper trays.

It was Atmos during theatrical run - I saw it in Atmos and was awesome - the 5.1 derived from the Atmos should be great although shame they couldn't include the Atmos.

Hopefully the UK set is individual cases. I'm guessing the US set is very slim, similar to Mad Max Anthology. Also, the US set doesn't include BD's.

Since it WB and there are no blu rays in the US I'm betting it matches the LOTR 4k only set in a large amaray with sleeve. This maybe 4k but the artwork screams of the old 3/4 dvd combos where you get 4 films in a normal dvd size box.

Happy with a standard release, makes it easier to add v and Balboa later.

I think Warner Bros will put out a huge box set that includes all 6 Rocky movies and 3 Creed movies by the end of the year.

Creed is a spin-off, won’t be in a Rocky boxed set.

I understand it's a spin off but that doesn't mean they couldn't do one big box set with both franchises. They did something similar with The Lord Of The Rings and Hobbit movies.

Rocky isn’t even in Creed 3, doubt there will be a Rocky set with a movie he’s not in.

Interesting. If UK is getting individual releases, I'm going that route instead of the Best Buy steelbooks. I currently have the UK box set just to have individual cases.

I wouldn't even call them spin-offs. The main character of the Rocky films is also a main character in the first two Creed films. Rocky's story continues in the Creeds. They are almost as much Rocky's movies as they are Adonis'. The first two Creed movies aren't "The Scorpion King" or "U.S. Marshals".

I have no idea why anyone would think a box set with the Rocky + Creed films combined is some impossibility.

Seeing as the latest Creed film lacks Stallone appearing in it, I think that we would more likely get a separate 3-movie Creed boxset later on. It's not impossible that there would be a Rocky 1-6/Creed 1-2 set, but with Creed 3 literally months away, I don't know.

I know Stallone is not going to be in Creed III but I would hope that if they release one big box set with all the Rocky movies and first two Creed movies that they go ahead and include it in that box set to make it complete.

Yeah, Harry Potter and Fantastic beasts have done it too. All 9 fast and furious films have been bundled in with Hobbs and Shaw. It's the Rocky legacy collection or something like that. Rockyveres. Plus it's WB putting these out, they love churning out sets making people spend money. There will probably be a rocky-1-6. Creed 1-3. All 9 together, steelbook sets and probably some overly priced set in a boxing glove knowing WB
