That was an epic ending to the Bama game

that last minute drive, as Mark May said, may be the best final drive in Alabama history. Just... Wow. That was magical to watch live and I'm not even a fan of either team! That's gotta be amazing for Bama fans and gut wrenching for LSU fans!

The emotion from McCarron was unreal - in a good way imo.

Glad Bama won. I don't want to see teams with one loss in the championship because it kind of ruins the build up imo and people always say the team shouldn't be there - and for LSU and Bama to possibly be setting up the same scenario as last year? yikes!

I want my Ducks to meet and undefeated Bama squad for the NC no issues, no drama, no "yeah but..." Comments. Although I do fear this heart stopping last minute win will ride a momentum wave for Bama to another title but no need to worry now, lots of football left.

Well my Knights are having a far better season that I was expecting. UCF is 7-2 with their only losses to Ohio St. and Missouri. Been crushing the CUSA competition with a 5-0 conference record and rolled SMU 42-17 today.

This game proves the National championship should be LSU Bama again

I don't know why Miles didn't punt and pin them back.

AJ McCarron > Matt Barkley

Good thing LSU lost to Florida otherwise we probably would be heading towards a rematch for the NC

Barkley has always struck me as an oddity. Ever since high school was labeled as some kind of football legend but I've never been overly impressed with him. Maybe because he's had such high expectations? Or maybe because he comes from a program that has had some great QB's (or at least great numbers) in college but who have had very limited success in the pros. Don't know why but I see Barkley as the next Palmer - a safe, high draft pick that doesn't do a whole lot at the next level (lots of variables effect that though).

Lots of QB's better than Barkley imo.

Here is a little comparison of Rivals from the same city this year so far up to last week.

Brett Hundley for UCLA has been a great addition to a young team.

Hundley is a red shirt freshman

KSU is screwed if Klein is out for any amount of time. I realize they're past the tough part of their schedule, but I think it definitely hurts their chances at running the table.

Seeing McCarron powerless to control his emotions embodies everything this game is about. LSU was in his face the entire second half, and he carries his team on his back to victory at the end of the game. Brilliant f'n drive. McCarron has come so far in the last year.

Congrats to Alabama on that final drive, I was pulling for them b/c I want LSU to drop a little so my team can move up at least 1 spot to #9.

Are they going to be able to go to a bowl this year or are they banned? I know they were banned from a bowl but that they had appealed and that they'd be able to play in a bowl if the appeal didn't get decided by a certain point.

The only thing this proved to me is Alabama isn't as unbeatable as people thought.

LSU hasn't shown they are all that good this year, yet they took Alabama down to the wire.

The only thing "saving" this for me from an Alabama standpoint is that it was a rivalry game played at LSU.

I still think Alabama is the best in the country, but not by as wide of margin as I thought before yesterday.

For the first time since 2001, UCLA (No. 17) ranks ahead of USC (No. 21) in the AP Top 25 poll.

Oregon moved up to Number 2.

Its the Mora Jr effect... I told you, it's only a year or two away until UCLA has its first championship.

I disagree. Yeah LSU has look bad on offense this year, there D is still great. You also have to take in account that LSU was pissed after the NC game they wanted this game bad. Also they had two weeks to prepare for this game. So this game just made me have more respect for Bama. Alabama will not face a defense nearly as good for the rest of the season.

No they didn't. Oregon was number 2 in the last poll too. I think you're mixing up the human polls with the BCS rankings. It's the BCS where Oregon has been lower, and probably will still be #3 or 4 when this week's numbers are released.

Source -http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8592978/joker-phillips-coach-kentucky-wildcats-season

Quote:
Joker Phillips will not return as coach of the Kentucky football team after this season, the school announced Sunday.

Phillips, in his third season at Kentucky, is 12-23 with the Wildcats.

"Obviously our football program is not where we want it to be and we are all disappointed; coaches, players, administration and our fans," athletic director Mitch Barnhart said in an open letter to Big Blue Nation.

"After much conversation, evaluation and prayer, I have determined that it is in the best interest of our athletics program to make a change in our football coaching staff at the conclusion of the season."

Barnhart said a search for a new coach will begin immediately.

Phillips is owed $2.55 million over the remaining two years of his contract.

Kentucky lost Saturday to Vanderbilt to fall to 1-9 overall and 0-7 in the SEC. Vanderbilt's 40-point victory margin was its largest against the Wildcats in 96 years.
Time to give Petrino a call.

I'm very curious about what kind of chances Petrino gets after the season. Petrino is an untrustworthy scumbag but he's a very good coach, so I don't know if he'll have a chance at premiere jobs like Auburn or Tennessee (if those jobs are open) or if he'll have to try and get a second tier job like Kentucky or a lower-conference team.

I can't imagine him getting a top tier job right away. I think down the road if he behaves himself and performs well at a second or third tier job, someone big will take a chance on him. A school like Kentucky has nothing to lose to try and hire him. He is undoubtedly a very good collegiate coach.
