I wish they packaged the 4k releases with 3D discs as well. I currently don't have a 4k set up, but i do have (and enjoy) a 3D set up.

IMO they could grow the 4K format faster if they packaged all the BR discs together.

Although I already have most of the 4K movies on that list in one form or another that I want, hopefully this is a sign of 4K pricing to come.

Yes exactly. We can definitely do with more cheaper 4K titles. I too already either own those movies in 4K or 3D. The only one I don't own in any form yet is War Dogs, but not sure I want to lol

War Dogs is an excellent film in my opinion. I really enjoyed it. Both Jonah Hill and Miles Teller's performance's in this were great!

I bought it on Boxing Day as a Blind Buy.

War Dogs is ok. Only worth watching once though imo.

Agreed. Doesn't warrant repeat viewings IMO. If you really wanna blind buy it I suggest waiting until it hits the <$10 range.

Yeah, I'm trying to be more picky now with movies I will get repeat viewings out of because they're so expensive. If this were two years ago I would be buying just about everything that came out lol

Is Tarzan and san andreas worth it on 4k? I almost picked up I am legend when I realized it doesn't have immersive audio.

This is what made me go for the 3D Mad Max Fury Road instead of the 4K package. No idea why they're splitting their products like that. (The 4K Fury Road has 4K and BD discs. They could've easily put the 3D disc on there.)

I'm not going to get into the argument about 4K, but for those of you who are into it, wouldn't it just make more sense to wait for the prices of 4K discs to drop?

If I was into 4K and didn't currently own a setup, I would definitely wait until I did because today's new releases will be next year's bargain bin titles.

I agree.

I wait for blu-ray titles to drop. I can't justify spending $24.99 day one for a movie that I already watched in theaters. Unless you're in the slipcover/steelbook collecting game, it wouldn't hurt to wait a bit.

what's the actual manufacturing cost of adding a disc to a title? I suspect it's very little.

My Mummy 4k trilogy that I preordered two months ago still has an expected ship date of May 18th even though it was released today and is in stock. Would it be worth it to contact them about this? Even if it ships tomorrow it might not make it for the weekend.

All my recent orders have been slow to ship. In stock stuff I ordered on Friday is still showing estimated ship date of May 19. Maybe they're really busy?

Is Batman V. Superman UHD worth it for $20? I have the 3D blu-ray, but prefer the extended cut. I'm really hoping we get more of these kinds of sales.

I ordered this from Walmart and received it yesterday in my mail. It did not come with the movie money for the new Mummy flick unfortunately, but for $30, I can't complain!

I want to watch some of these now, not in 2 years. I also want to support the format so it continues to grow. Waiting for bargains isn't going to help that.

Yes, but on the flipside, if we all thought the same and supported the format by paying 32-34.99 before taxes for every new release (or the large majority of them), then that just would signal the industry that we are content with paying this level of pricing.

Waiting for bargains lets them know at which price point would people purchase at more readily.

The flipside of your argument is that if the public on average holds out for a certain price, and that certain price happens to fall below the profit point for the studios, then that will be the beginning of the end for physical media. In fact we're probably all ready there; just look at all of the great catalogue titles that the studios were releasing on DVD 10 years ago compared with today. Some of my all-time favorite movies that still haven't been upgraded to blu-ray, let alone UHD.

I'm no better, obviously, since I'm here on this forum. And I don't know enough about all of the economics of the business to know what the fair price is, I just know that it's not as simple as you think it is.
