If the UHD and blu-ray release dates are similar then that would be the case. If the UHD comes years after the BD release you may need to confirm.

This is coming from Shameless Films.

From their social media:

Quote:
The 4K-restored HDR & DolbyVision (region-free) of THE HOUSE WITH LAUGHING WINDOWS will be released soon by Shameless Films as a limited edition release with loads of on-disc extras, an exclusive book, poster, and artcards.

(*Also to be released on Blu-ray Collector’s Edition.)
Shameless tend to announce dates quite close to release, at least it seems that way from recent announcements.

Fair enough. My mind just jumped immediately to the UK release since we are in the UK forum. No worries.

And you are right to do that. It is a bit muddled around here with UK exclusive stuff talked about in the US thread and US exclusive stuff talked about in the UK thread. Which I guess is natural.

Regarding the 4K UHD of A Fistful of Dollars, do you think it is definitely sold out or will a new restock appear on the Arrow Video online store in a few days/weeks?

Going by how things have gone, I half expect some have been kept back for TGBU*.
there certainly seemed to be more available around the release of FAFDM**.

What are the odds Arrow might get their hands on some more classic MGM/UA war films like Battle of Britain or A Bridge Too Far?

What's the situation with Combat Shock in the UK? Do Arrow still have the rights? If not, who does?

Given recent releases, I have been expecting “A Bridge Too Far” and “The Magnificent Seven” to turn up sooner than later.

I would love to see Battle of Britain get the deluxe treatment. We can use a huge upgrade over the barebones MGM Blu.

I recieved email from HMV about them dispatching Witness late!

‘Due to a delay in receiving the stock from our suppliers we have so far been unable to dispatch this in time for its original release date. Apologies for any disappointment that this may cause.

However, we have been assured that the stock is on its way and as soon as the shipment reaches our warehouse, we'll process and dispatch your order as soon as we can. You'll also receive a dispatch email to let you know when it's on its way.’

I guess it’s either free postage but recieving late vs Arrow paying postage but getting films on time or sometimes early like with Dressed To Kill 4K.
Knowing my luck, I’ll have to wait a while for the Sean Connery Bond collection to get dispatched from HMV as well.

What are the chances of Arrow getting UK 4K rights to Adventures Of Baron Munchausen?
Criterion has the US 4K/Blu-ray rights and has the UK Blu-ray rights but when I contacted them asking if they will release the 4K in the UK, they said no.

Either a) they could release it here but are choosing not to for some reason
Or b) they don’t have 4K rights to the film for the UK market or another label has snagged the rights

I know with Time Bandits Arrow released the 4K and Blu-ray in the UK wheras Criterion released it on Blu-ray and 4K in the US
Annoyingly the Arrow & Criterion both have completely different special features so I’ll have to own both one day.

I considered importing the US 4K but my friend ordered 3 copies from Amazon, all were scratched discs so he decided to not bother and is sticking with the Criterion UK Blu-ray

Criterion often say they don't have plans to release something and then end up doing so. In fact I can barely remember a time when they let slip something is being released here unless Jon Mulvaney himself responds (and usually he doesn't reveal much).

Criterion almost certainly have the UK rights still, due to their worldwide relationship with Sony, and I'd be surprised if they didn't upgrade it to 4K at some point (though if they're hesitant to, it might be because of low sales figures for the Blu-ray, as that recently seems to be a factor in them deciding whether 4K is necessary for the UK or not).
