In A Lonely Place has been on my wish list for quite a while. I think it could get a release. More Nicholas Ray seems like a given. I had also been praying and wishing for Bigger Than Life for FOREVER. And that came through!

I know I'm greedy, but besides a new Kurosawa on blu I would love to see Tokyo Olympiad on blu ray. But it's OOP and I don't know who's got the rights to it...

yeah they should release another kurosawa. everything from kurosawa would be a great announcement, but i would prefer a non samurai movie.

less movies that have already released by a another label (with english subs) and more movies that are not avaible on bluray !

(whats up with all these double releases by MoC / AE / Criterion / BFI / Kino)

currently i have higher hopes for BFI releasing another kurosawa before criterion does.

I'd love to see Criterion get the complete Norman McLaren films from the NFB. A box set was released through Home Vision and Image years ago, but it has been out of print for a while.

Criterion could add Donald McWilliams' "Creative Process" documentary that was previously released through Milestone (and OOP), use the newer NFB restorations (as seen on the McLaren's Workshop iPad app), and add the handful of British/Scottish films he made that were either only excerpted or omitted.

I'd expect at least a 4-disc Blu set between the wealth of films and extras already existing.

Same here. It'll be great for Michael Mann to finally enter the Criterion catalog, hell if the films of Richard Linklater and Wes Anderson are getting the Criterion treatment, then what's stopping the films of Michael Mann from getting the mention. Having said that, my wish list would be;

1. Le Samourai (Pretty much everyone is waiting for this title, I mean what is the hold up)

2. The Tenant (Criterion have already released Repulsion and Rosemary's Baby, so it'll be great if Criterion could complete Polanski's loose trilogy on urban paranoia.)

3. Eraserhead (Now this would be a treat)

4. Mulholland Drive (Hope it comes out soon)

5. Thief

6. The Passenger (If Identification of a Woman can get a release, what's stopping The Passenger

Really hoping for that one in the near future.

Will Criterion be announcing new titles on the 15th? I'm hoping there is no delay.

I would also love to see The Tenant released to BLU also. There has been the Its a Mad Mad.... World possible Nov release rumor maybe?

Shouldn't be a delay. The 15th falls on a Thursday.

I'd love to see a Warhol collection. It baffles me that his estate are so protective of his film work but don't mind commercially exploiting his other artistic ventures.

I'd also love to see Criterion release some of Jonas Mekas' recently restored films. I did e-mail about getting a Blu-Ray of Walden (Diaries, Notes, and Sketches) but I couldn't justify dishing out hundreds of dollars for one disc!

Yes, it's from Warner. So is Fearless, which I would have a slight preference for of the two, since Warner released the DVD of it in 4x3 only.

The Woman in the Window (just learned this is held by MGM and not public domain)
Thief (speaking of MGM)
The Hunger (seriously, MGM, get on these)
Throne of Blood (this is usually Drunken Angel but somebody just mentioned Throne of Blood and it's awesome so Throne of Blood it is)
The Ghost and Mr Chicken (shut up, this is freaking awesome too)
The Woman in the Window is owned by Warner, not MGM. Which doesn't increase its likelihood of coming out from Criterion, but...

MGM released an authorized DVD along with The Stranger and Kansas City Confidential. I'm not exactly sure how MGM picked up the titles since they were originally released by RKO.

Back then, I stood on a school desk just like one of the kids in Dead Poets Society, and I learned two things.
1. School desks are apparently not as sturdy as they were back in 1959.
2. I should go on a diet.

I was quite grateful for the educational experience, and it certainly expanded my mind to new boundaries.

Another reason why Dead Poets Society does not quite reverberate as much these days, though, is because I've seen movies that touch on the same subject matter in more effective ways. Akira Kurosawa's Red Beard is one such film, although it tells the story of doctors treating patients.

I briefly entertained the hope that the building with the windows in the 2013 illustration was a big hint for Hitchcock's Rear Window.

No chance, but wouldn't that be great?

I really really want a Blu-ray upgrade of Akira Kurosawa's Stray Dog.

Stray Dog is my second favorite Akira Kurosawa film behind Seven Samurai.
