I hear ya brother.

Marvel is really on top of it and I have high hopes for Avengers as well as Thor and Cpt. America but most of all, I think Iron Man 2 will be absolutely amazing.

The Hulk and X-Men are my all time favorite Marvel characters. Too bad Fox owns the X-Men. I'd love to see that fight between Hulk and Wolverine where Hulk rips Wolverine in half at the waist.

Although I hear that about Norton on almost all his films but you know what, he's probably right most of the time! The guy is a genius...

Also keep in mind, the pronouncement was made way back BEFORE the final B.O. settled on "X-Men: Wolverine":
To which the general audience Court of Public Opinion ruled that a Deadpool movie might be good, they finally got Gambit right after three tries, maybe the Blob shouldn't have been in the first movie after all but a good effort, Liev Schreiber was better than the wrestler guy now that the comic-canon guys are in charge, and that Hugh Jackman's act has gotten pretty darn familiar by now without some larger story context to attach it to.

IOW, that the Marvel name won't save every movie it's attached to singlehandedly unless there's some Classic Canon to invoke fan loyalty--
The goose won't lay golden eggs in every film.

The more Marvel Studios gets to release, delving more into the MCU, the more J6P will start to realize the difference between a Marvel Studios Picture Vs a FOX Picture.

The Marvel Studios movies will stand alone yet at the same time work as marketing for the other films they have in the pipeline.

Right now, Marvel Studios in it's early days resembles PIXAR in it's early days as far as success goes.

as of right now they're batting a thousand as far as i'm concerned
Incredible Hulk was better than anything Fox/Sony ever produced imo

and hopefully iron man 2 continues that

The movie company seems to be going by current (ie. Ultimate) canon, where Bruce Banner is the team All-Other-Science genius (with Tony handling the tech stuff), but that he has certain, um, liabilities to the team...

And Norton could certainly handle the former, just so long as they don't let the latter turn the movie into a clone of the Lionsgate animateds.
the only issue with that is that IH had banner/Hulk as runaways from the military/cops. The movie would need to have a large backstory for why and how they found/convinced banner to join the team. That is where I think the movie could have some pitfalls if not done right. IM is not at issue (probably with #2 even less if they expand the connection with SHIELD) but it will be interesting to see what they do with CA and Thor, that would help determine what they can/need to do in the Avengers.

I think the true origin makes sense (bunch of heroes at the right place right time decide to join forces) but then again it did not need to explain why they searched for some guy that was frozen in ice. I also think the LG film worked well but in it Banner was never introduced as being in exile and hiding.

Well, it's interesting that Feige explains that they had planned on waiting until Production on IM2 and the scripts for Thor and Cap were completed before starting on the Avengers script but they realized that in order to tie them together better they needed to work on them all at once. That's a good sign that we shouldn't have those how, what, huh moments.

Bringing Banner into the fold would be easy enough. Specially if he can control the creature (as is hinted at with Norton's closing scene).

I also wonder if we'll see Betty Ross, Potts and the other female leads in the Avengers (even if it's a cameo)?

The rumor has been Natalie Portman in Thor. Could you imagine if it happens? The female cast would be just as awesome as the male cast.

if he can control Hulk all the really need to do is tell banner something is going on and they need his help to stop it or whatever and he would.
simple enough

i believe everyone from iron man is going to be in avengers
Cheadle, Paltrow, Downey and Jackson

agree, I am excited in the film and Marvel does appear to take good care, I was just pointing out some of the potential pitfalls. and how critical it is to have a plot that requires the coming together of such a diverse group of characters.

I don't see it, (not the bringing into the fold, I want that, but in the LG film sort of way where banner is a SHIELD scientist and even past that point where Hulk is part of the team)
1) for Gen. Ross it is not just business but also personal he would bias any other official government organisation against Banner

2) Banner is a fugitive how does SHIELD find him (assuming we go with the "ultimate" premise), wouldn't there be other and possibly better scientists to hire? and why (in the sense of is he hired because of the problem that forced the creation of Avengers or ws he hired before)?

3) for most of the hulk incarnations (and the only one in the movie) his power is directly related to his anger which is directly related to how out of control he is (i.e more animalistic) an "under control" hulk will not work

I would imagine the "under control" may not mean 100% but more a development of how Banner meant to "aim" him in the movie to take out Blonsky. I think it would be great if it were the child-like Savage Hulk from the 70's. But for me any Hulk is better than no Hulk! I just hope that the Avengers film launches him into another stand alone film.

As far as finding him, if he (for some reason) is the Hulk, that part would be easy (specially for Shield). It could be as them showing up in the same place as you mentioned.

I really don't see the Hulk as becoming a part of the team. As you know his stint was something like 4 issues. He's just not a team type of guy (but once an Avenger, always an Avenger).

I know what the second article I posted said about the Ultimate Universe, but I wouldn't put much stock into that. The Marvel Cinema Universe (MCU) takes elements from both to come up with the best story. I really doubt that they'll go Ultimate storyline for the Banner side of things. I hate that version of Banner and he's very far removed from the one in the regular MU and the current Norton version.

There's going to be a bunch more reports as soon as Marvel removes it's moratorium. Then we'll get a bit more info.

Sorry?

The first guy who played Sabretooth not only A} was the approximate same size as Sabretooh {you know larger than Wolverine by a fair chunk} but B} actually looked and acted like Sabretooth.

more like sabretooth, but as far as actually acting....yea, no.

i personally liked Sabretooth better in this film than in X1
but i've never read the comics though, i just like the films based on them
so i guess thats why i didn't have a problem with Schreiber
