In all honesty, even though I'd love a 4K remaster, I think the current transfer is pretty good IMO. I know there's people that disagree but I didn't find any big issues with it.

That sucks. I was hoping for a new master to go along with the 2015 release of the first film.

I had a feeling when I saw that Buffy the vampire slayer wasn't getting a remaster. I'm so sick of studios labeling these rereleases or releases in general like Gross Pointe Blank and The Rocketeer as anniversary editions when they aren't true anniversary editions like the repackaging for The Usual Suspects. False advertisement to the fullest with a loophole where the film is actually that old

If this isn't a remaster, then I'm not buying - its that simple. Plus, I'm disappointed the sequel's been routinely overlooked for bonus material; I'd love to see current interviews with Tim Curry and Brenda Fricker. It sucks that John Heard passed away, too.

At least The Rocketeer got a good video-audio presentation (4 and 3.5, respectively). Pardon the pun, but its truly leaps and bounds above any previous home-video release.

Yep, it's ridiculous when YouTube has more content than the actual Blu-ray release! That's why I have so many DVD-R and BD-R stacked inside my Blu-ray cases. I make my own "Special Editions".

Tim Curry is 71 and had a stroke about 5 yrs ago. He seems to be relegated to a wheelchair and hardly makes any public appearances. I wouldn't hold out for that.

That does produce a glimmer of hope but why not mention a remaster in the press release?

Found a library with a copy of the 25th anniversary Edition BD, same exact disc as the 2009 release.

Like Princess Bride, it's another day, another lazy catalog repack over at Fox/MGM.
