Yeah, strange decision not to give the Bluray option for the collecters edition. Ah well happy to have Metallica on Bluray at all.

I would have killed to have Orion on that setlist, Damage Inc. would have been a great addition as well

Good setlist overall, personally I'd drop stone cold crazy and stick Last Caress in but aside from that, liking it

Yeah, that one's cool too, but at least "Stone f***in' cold... crazeh!..." is something different.

You actually mind terribly if I'd say they should play more stuff from 'St. Anger'?
There's some seriously pi***d off insane raging stuff on that album. XD
I found that ever since 2003, but recently I listened to it again and it didn't get boring...
Like, for live, 'Frantique' aaand... 'Dirty Window' and 'Shoot Me Again'.
Can create some major pits, but myah...

By the way, I wonder if that copy of 'Death Magnetic' in the Deluxe Edition is like a "new transfer". XD
If that would have a review on a website like this, it would be totally flamed down to the ground.
And I must agree, it sounds quite terrible, at least to people that are into quality like us around here.
Hundreds of thousands of people even signed petitions for a new release and Lars was like "that's not enough".
Geez man...
But would have been interesting to get like the album on ADVD or BD or something with the BD-version. :P
Or the Deluxe version of course, but it would kind of mismatch with the lossy DVD. XD
Homer: "HmmmetallicA in 5.1 LPCM surround gaaahglh..."

Lol, I have a soft spot for St Anger, prbly their weakest record IMO but thats only by Metallica standards, there is some incredible riffage going on in that album. Frantic is indeed awesome live, love the acoustic version of All Within My Hands too.

My friend asked the same question whether it could be a remix of Death Magnetic. Can't see it happening to be honest but you're right it really does sound bad at times, particularly at high volumes, a 5.1 mix would be awesome! Have you heard the DVD-A of the black album? It's phenomenal.

And yes, yes 5.1 LPCM, **** Yeah!! A month to go...I was really looking forward to Modern Warfare 2 but now I can see there's a reason to look beyond that

I didn't catch the acoustic, think I've heard OF it.
Is it on a single or something?

No, I think I spotted it before, I think in MetallicA's online store.
But I believe it's kind of expensive, at least with shipping all the way over here.
Unbelievable, what do they do with the money, other stores don't seem to need it. :P
But anyway, "Black Album" is one of the most awesome sound-recordings ever to me.
It's warm, tight (lol where's this going?), dynamic and still loud and very heavy.
I would love to hear the 5.1-version, as the CD itself already contains this ambient sound.
Does it have higher quality too?

I was listening to Evanescence's 'The Open Door' yesterday
and I could have sworn the rear-speakers were working...
I mean, I was checking if Dolby Pro Logic was probably activated, but it wasn't...
It doesn't sound perfect (while clean) but for some reason it kind of sounds surround-like sometimes.

Speaking of which, maybe a DVD-release of Evanescence on BD would be cool too.
But I never really watched any, so...

Why's that, BD-releases instead?

Default Couple I would like

A Slayer "Reign in Blood" concert.

Behemoth from "Demigod"

Dying Fetus from "War of Attrition"

Suffocation at anytime in their career

Vital Remains with any singer other than the totally over the hill Glen Benton

Cannibal Corpse their latest, and I think greatest, "Evisceration Plague"

Thats just a few

Now that I've seen how good Faith No More is now - Faith No More. Is it just me or did the singer used to sound terrible/out of breath live all the time. Now he sounds great.
Kind of hard for the older bands concerts , since they werent shot with HD cameras

Tool.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

Also, they aren't exactly heavy metal but neither are a lot of the bands being mentioned in here so I'll go ahead and say that I would pay for any Mars Volta BD releases with my soul.

Angry "Flight 666" Why so expensive?!

You know guys, I didn't want to make a rant-topic for this, so I'll just post it here:

But what the F is up with the (UK-)price of Maiden's "Flight 666" huh?
18 POUNDS?! Still today, even slightly higher than at time of release!
I would have expected it to go down in HALF A YEAR.
Don't get me wrong, Iron Maiden is one of my very top bands,
but I'm seriously not paying that much for it.
Come on Amazon, cut the price in about half, or is EMI stubborn about it?
This is bogus, if they can release 'Band Of Brothers' at the same price...

Just noticed, it's literally double the US-price; $15,- vs $30,-...

+1 would love some Tool on blu ray... Even if its only Maynard in the dark, the audio alone would be worth it.

Megadeth that one night would be awesome with a blu transfer. Same with Slayer War at the Warfield. One more great transfer would be CoB Stockholm Knockout live. Other bands in no order...... Black Dahlia Murder, DevilDriver, Dimmu, Everytime I Die, FEAR FACTORY, High on Fire, Iced Earth, Isis, Judas, Lamb of God, Machine Head, Ministry, Nightwish, Norther, pig destroyer, Hatebreed, Trivium, Strapping Young Lad, Madball, Cancer Bats, Zombie, some new alice in chains, and I know they aren't metal but Alkaline Trio, sevendust and queens of the stone age

Extreme has a live dvd and cd coming out on May 4th in th U.S. and April 23rd everywhere else. It was filmed in HD and supposedly will air on HDNET, but there hasn't been any definitive news regarding a BD release. Anyone know where/how I can get this info?

Tnx.

Same here. An absolute necessity considering how much effort these guys put into their artwork & all the cool "extra" sounds they have in their songs.

I'd like to see a hi-def live show of Dimmu Borgir...that'd be quite the sight.

Primal Fear does have a new live DVD, 16.6: Live All Over the World coming out June 4th. It'd be cool if it was on Blu too, but I'm not holding my breath.
