I find MacGruber funny, SNL in general funny, and the cast funny.

Hold your breath for that cancellation, buddy.
I know it won't happen, but it should. Or at least find people who actually are funny. I'm not gonna lie and say it's NEVER funny, there are times. Andy Sandberg just continues to rap and sing, that's getting old. It's not to say that these people aren't funny, the material is horrible. I haven't fully watched an episode of SNL in years. Of course people are going to have different views on the cast over the years. I personally liked when it was Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch, Will Ferrell, Molly Shannon, Cherri O'Terri, etc. That's when I first started watching it, I'm only 19.

Obviously. You liked Molly Shannon and Cheri Oteri. I can't imagine less funny people.

There's a lot of garbage that ends up in SNL. There's no denying that. But there are plenty of funny people on the show. When the writing matches the talent, a few times an episode, it's good stuff. Unfortunately, this year, a lot of the guest hosts have been atrocious.

What do you find funny?

I find a lot of things funny. Just not SNL. Molly Shannon and Cherri Otrei weren't always funny. I can't even remember SNL back then, but THEN I found it funny. I don't know if I still would. I was probably like 11 when they were on there.

At least I can commend you for watching good TV when you were 11.

I think when I was 11, the cast was Dana Carvey, Mike Myers, Phil Hartman, etc.

Thanks haha I've only seen a little bit of SNL when they were on there.

Like I said, it's not that it's never funny and that the cast aren't funny people. It just seems like it's recycled material all the time, playing same characters. I've always thought Kenan dressing up as a woman was funny though.

Going to a free screening of this tomorrow night on my school's campus. Based on the trailer, I wouldn't have paid to see it in theatres. But Macgruber is hilarious on SNL, so I'm still kinda looking forward to it.

The early reviews from SXSW say that it is good, and the trailer isn't a good representation of the movie, but it's nothing special!

Wow, saw the red-band trailer on Sunday with Kick-Ass... much different than the initial, clean version!

That's good to hear! I'll report back tomorrow night. Thursday night we get a free screening of Get Him to the Greek.

Well i can't stand SNL anymore, its definitely not the show it used to be. In fact it really hasn't been since the sandler era cast, there and back the cast and show was always solid if not amazing.

That being said this is one of the few skits i actually thought was somewhat comical especially when the include RDA in the skits, but expanding this into a feature length movie.... i don't see it.

Just finished watching the advance screening. Glad I didn't pay to see it. I got a good amount of laughs out of it, but it wasn't good enough to recommend (and I thought Hot Rod was awesome). Seemed sloppily put together in places, like they made it up as they went along. The girl running the event wanted our comments about it and said that Universal might edit the movie based on our feedback. I think it comes out in theatres in a month.

Overall, I'd give it a 5.5/10.

Tomorrow night I'll be seeing the advance screening for Get Him to the Greek. The Universal girl told me that Russell Brand will likely be here to help promote it (Ryan Phillippe was at UNC tonight for the MacGruber screening). She also said it's much funnier and an overall better movie than MacGruber.

So the film isn't TOO bad, and it's very cool Russell Brand will be there!

It wasn't that bad. And the more I think about it, I think it could be one of those movies that becomes funnier with repeated viewings.
