but to be honest, I dont see much point in releaseing cartoons on blu-ray. Cept for the pixar ones obviously

There is absolutely no doubt that HD DVD will get killed in Q4.

Even just for the following two reasons.

1) Spider-man 3
2) Pirates of the Caribbean 3

There are many other reasons, but I think these are the main 2.

HD are more like the gap between DVD and BR in my opinion.

Let's not forget two very big box set announcements. Harry Potter and Blade Runner. Both have a BIG cult following, and with the price cut(temporary) on the PS3, this could prove to be another nail in hd dud's coffin.

I see that Dark Poet lives in the US, in Canada PS3's price drop looks to be permanent. So I am assuming that the US is the same, I don't know but I would think so.

Chistmas 07 may be the most crucial time for Blu Ray. If Sony markets Blu Ray/PS3 correctly this Christmas could make Blu Ray. I would suggest that Sony remasters all of the James Bonds and puts them out seperatley as well as in box sets, they have to do this at the same time they can't stagger it like they did with the DVD releases. Fox could do their part also and release the Alien Quadrilogy as well as the Die Hards (Live Free or Die Hard included). Finally Disney could talk to Pixar and get them to release both Toy Stories, Finding Nemo,The Incredibles and Cars bot as a box set and individually. This is my idea of how the High Definition disk war could be over in a year, hopefully.

Excellent post, especially in regard to James Bond. If they beef up the music concert releases or rather continue like they are planning to ala Queen and Led Zeppelin, then I will surely be purchasing many BluRays.
