There is absolutely no doubt that HD DVD will get killed in Q4.

Even just for the following two reasons.

1) Spider-man 3
2) Pirates of the Caribbean 3

There are many other reasons, but I think these are the main 2.

i'm still a little surprised that just general disc quality hasn' claimed BR as the winner

HD are more like the gap between DVD and BR in my opinion.
more a filler

Let's not forget two very big box set announcements. Harry Potter and Blade Runner. Both have a BIG cult following, and with the price cut(temporary) on the PS3, this could prove to be another nail in hd dud's coffin.

I see that Dark Poet lives in the US, in Canada PS3's price drop looks to be permanent. So I am assuming that the US is the same, I don't know but I would think so.

Fox could do their part also and release the Alien Quadrilogy as well as the Die Hards (Live Free or Die Hard included). Finally Disney could talk to Pixar and get them to release both Toy Stories, Finding Nemo,The Incredibles and Cars bot as a box set and individually. This is my idea of how the High Definition disk war could be over in a year, hopefully.
Excellent post, especially in regard to James Bond. If they beef up the music concert releases or rather continue like they are planning to ala Queen and Led Zeppelin, then I will surely be purchasing many BluRays.
