Oh, Sorry I didn't mean I didn't read them. I just used the local Library or a friend to read the, I've read them all. REally enjoyed them in some weird way. I say weird because I really can't compare it to anything else I've read, I know my reading is rather shallow, but you know...

That's quite disappointing about the macroblocking and artificating in some scenes. Hopefully they will re-encode 'Goblet of Fire' but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

Myself, I thought the artificating and macroblocking was pretty bad on the DVD format. One of the worst for a major franchise. So it should be at least an improvement on BD... hopefully!

However, I prefer the novels. I consider the movies to be a bonus for the readers.

Just watched Chamber of Secrets last night and forgot how long it is. This got me thinking about how it would come out on HD DVD vs. Blu ray, since Superman Returns is a notorious example of a decently long movie being bit-starved to fit on HD DVD, and it's not as long as the HP movies. Hopefully somebody at Warner sees these artifacting issues and decides that Wow, Blu-ray really IS the way to go. I like these movies, but if they put them out with bit-starved transfers, I think I'll have to pass.

It will sell higher on Blu Ray, are you kidding? For various reasons, almost every title to date has sold higher on blu Ray. Disney... I know you're thinking Disney what? What does Disny have to do with it. Well obviously Disney is attracting alot of the family crowd along with younger children. That crowd is going to be buying this in large amounts, belive me, lol. The month of November is the month of family films I suppose. From Pixars Stuff, to Spiderman (early november) To now this? And I belive we'll see Fantastic Four on Blu ray in November as well, (don't quote me on this, it's just a gut feeling of mine).

Even more interesting is the interview about the format war with the Warner dude and the hugely conspiracy theory laced article about how Microsoft is prolonging the format war in hopes all packaged media fails.

Interesting reading throughout!
