The platforming elements of GoW are better than this PoP. Not the series in general, I think PoP as a series (past iterations) are better, but this one isn't, it's too derivative and the controls are too poor for it to be effective.
I still can't agree. GOW was a poor platformer at best. How I recall the frustration of many of the platforming elements due to poor controls. (hades temple/spinning blades) or (right before facing the original medusa)

This POP has some loose controls. Sometimes lining yourself up right doesn't feel effective.

I'm still not going to call an action button masher a better platformer though.

You're more or less saying then the game is a complete failure if it can't do it's primary genre better than a game that has platforming maybe third tier in its genre.

I'd consider GOW an action/adventure button masher with puzzle elements secondary and platforming third.

Just got the Platinum for this! Thought the two Untouchable and Invincible trophies would be a lot harder.

My 4th Plat!

I'm just starting this. I'm not that far into the story yet but so far it's a lot like the old Prince of Persia games.

My only regret is buying it instead of renting it. Overall, I enjoyed it though.
I didn't like the open world aspect to the last one, but I absolutely loved the graphics and the look of it.

This game I really really like, although the puzzle aspects of GOW series is what I didn't like the most. Shocking then that this game which seems to be 80% puzzle platforming is something I'm enjoying.

Okay so I finished the game yesterday, and finished up with 80% of the trophies.

I was thisclose to buying it, however the final level or so was just infuriatingly frustrating, particularly the water aspects where you had to keep freezing and unfreezing to jump through the sheets of water to grab hold of the other side and then unfreeze and jump through the NEXT wall of water, and so on.

That whole area, including the final climb to fight Ratash ruined the fun of this game, and now I won't buy it until I can get it for like 10 bucks.

A shame because everything prior to that was pretty fun, as was the final fight, once I figured out how to fight him.

I'm at the part where he learns how to dash at enemies ().

How many more elements does he learn to control?
