I don't know about Rage because it's a FPS game and those always sell well on 360, but I'm pretty confident (and this is a personal assumption here) they either removed or discounted the loyalty fee per disc for SE games (SO4, FFXIII). Again just an educated guess.

This is the type of ignorant, inane babble that has no place on these forums.
The Xbox 360 is a great console. It has its pros and cons, just like the PS3 does. If you don't like it, fine--don't like it. But please, don't be juvenile about it. As Blu-ray fans, we should want to see Blu-ray proliferate in all types of devices. I don't see anyone picketing Toshiba for releasing a Blu-ray player. |

I'm really sorry I hurt your feelings. I'll give you a hug if you want. ![]() xbox can still lick it though. It's ruining a game that could be better if xbox didn't exist. I'm sure it's a great console for what it does I didn't argue that. I don't like that it's taking away time better spent on the PS3/PC. You did read the thread rather than get offended by my post, right? EDIT: I'd like to say that it may/may not be ruining the game since I don't know for sure, but from the last page of posts or so that was my developing opinion that it is an obvious hurdle impeding on development in any scope. Ignorant, inane babble? Clearly you have a lot of emotion invested in your xbox. Get over it. Last edited by alphapyro; 07-20-2009 at 08:19 PM. |

I'm just playing School, and ya switching discs doesn't really bother me that much either. I'd prefer not to, but in the end it's only 10 seconds. |

Swapping DVD's isn't so bad when it's at two or three preset points (maybe after major transitions) during a lengthy game but returning to an earlier location and coming back causing two DVD swaps is unforgivable. The other danger is large open-world games becoming not so free and open-world, blocking off places you should be able to return to, working round technical limitations resulting in a less obviously inferior product. edit: Quote:

id is not the type of company that will bring their games universally down to the LCD just for consistency across different platforms. They've already promised a superior experience on PS3, while properly demonstrating that the Xbox 360 version will suffer as a direct result of its optical drive limitation. Hence my earlier comment, that if the Xbox 360 had a Blu-ray drive, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. ...yeah. ![]() |

Interesting. Shin-Ra, you said that the Source engine can pretty much perform well on the PlayStation 3 as it did on the Xbox 360 and PC. I was just wondering that can an outdated engine like Source can push to its limits, just like the Unreal Engines did with the other games?
I know this is a bit off-topic, but I'm just curious. Anyways, surprised to see that the engine can't perform well on the 360 and PC. |
