They also have buy one get one half off in thier flyer and are a participating retailer for the Disney coupons.

So:

30$ + 15$ (half price) - $10 GCs - $5 coupon - $5 coupon = $25 for both movies!!!!

HOT HOT HOT!

I'm going to TRU tomorrow!
I called and they said they wouldn't take the coupons with the BOGO deal. The coupons say they cannot be combined with other offers.

Yeah it certainly doesn't say that in the flyer.

I have seen this in several threads including the one I linked to, but apparently this is not 100% verified yet.

I'm sure it will be very YMMV.

Pretty much every store selling these has some sort of incentive to buy both.

I just pre-ordered Toy Story 1 and 2 and my local TRU and got two $5 gift cards. The guy said I will get one movie half price when I come back to pick them up on March 23rd because of the BOGO deal. He said I could use the $10 worth of gift cards towards the movies then but he had doubts if "the system" would let me use the $5 disney coupons during the BOGO sale. Which usually means a big YMMV!

In any case, go in and PRE-ORDER them both at TRU and get your $5 gift cards now. 30+15-5-5=$35 bucks and you might be lucky and be able to use the disney $5 coupons on top of it which would bring the total down to $25 bucks. But I'm not holding my breath

I also sold my DVD copies of TS1 and 2 for $20 bucks so my upgrade to blu-ray will end up costing either $5 or $15, depending on if they take my disney coupons ;-)

Thanks Shadow. I think I'll try and get this deal today too as it guarantees the both for $35 with a chance for 30 or 25 - if they won't accept the coupon on both copies, I'll try to convince to use the $5 on the full priced one

Better than trying to get FS/BB to use both sets of coupons (the $5 off each and $10 off for buying both) to get it to $36, which is already a long shot.

Brana (Futureshop product buyer) says customers can use both sets of
coupons.

OK, the deal looks to be even sweeter.

Disney is bypassing the Upgrade to Blu program for TS 1/2 release and will be allowing owners of the previous DVD and VHS copies to enter the UPC codes on the DMR website to get a $10 upgrade coupon for each movie.

http://disney.eprize.net/moviereward.../toystory1and2

Note: its not up yet as when I entered my UPC it says the magic code was not active yet. I'll try again this weekend, as weekends are when coupons usually go live.

Ahhh, right! I forgot about that FS Forums thread. I'll print that post out and take it with me as its ymmv for both - unless Brana is working the cash that night .

Given the newly added $10 upgrade coupons the math would now be

27.99 * 2 = 55.98 - $20 Upgrade Coupons - $10 for buying both = 26.98

or, if TRU allows coupons (YMMV):

29.99 + 29.99 * 50% = 44.99 - $20 Upgrade Coupons - $10 TRU GCs if you pre-order by Mar 22= 14.99

Even I think the TRU deal is just too good to be true (but I'll drop by my local TRU tonight for sure).

A word of caution for those wanting the two Toy Story 10 dollar coupons. I typed in my two UPC's from my old VHS', but I wasn't givin the option to choose between Canada/USA after clicking on the banner in the Disney reward site. It just automatically went into printing mode. So my coupon says "good in USA only". I simply followed the instructions that the Disney reward site gave from the link above. So, If someone is/was able to get the Canadian coupons printed, would you mind telling us how, and possibly giving out the UPC's you used?

The ad on the DMR website (From the link above) does state that the offer/upgrade is valid in US and Canada only. Still doesn't help the problem though.

Same thing happened to me. I'm calling DMR now to inquire how I can get my CANADIAN coupon. I'll post my findings.

EDIT:
I called them and they said that they are aware of the issue and that it should be working fine later in the day on Monday. She said that if it's not they can mail me coupons (although that's not ideal).

WARNING: She did tell me that it will only let you print each coupon 2x per IP address so DO NOT keep trying. I only printed Toy Story 1 as the USA only coupon so when I try monday I will try with Toy Story 2. If it's still not working then I still have only printed one of each coupon.

Thats great news. Big applause for phoning them (I was clearly too lazy to bother) I only put each UPC number in once, so I should be good to go come Monday. Even then, my brother has an account that I could use from his Internet connection, so either way I'll get them.

Before today It looked like I was only paying 18.99 each at Future Shop, which is a pretty great deal IMO. Now it looks like I'll only be paying 13.99 for each. Unbelievable. If there was a Toys R Us near me, I could probably get a better deal. But I'm quite happy as is.

Wow I'm loving this forum more and more... pity for those who do not know of the savings to be had, and just go out and spend at regular price for both!

Also, if you were to buy at Tru, with the preorders and receiving the $10 in GCs.. then possibly by-passing the BOGO deal would work too (if they don't allow the coupons to be added to the BOGO)

$30+$30-$10(GC)-$10-$10(Coupons) = $30

Future Shop it would be:
$29+$29-$10(FS Discount)-$10-$10 = $28

Zellers would be:
$25+$25-$10-$10 = $30 (Not sure if they have a deal with buying both together, nothing advertised, but if they did, it would only be $20 providing you could do both)
