Mine is also now processing at Play. But for some reason, my Saving Private Ryan is only an "Order Placed". I'm looking forward to both of them, but I hope that one doesn't get sent out later than the other.

Mine has been dispatched from HMV, I chose HMV because of the double pure points.

My steelbook from Amazon hasn't changed its status but it does say:

"We thought you should know that we're experiencing a delay with your order. We apologise for any inconvenience. Please take note of the revised dispatch and delivery estimates marked in red below."

But in the red text it still the same as it's always said. "Delivery estimate: 26 April 2010 - 30 April 2010" ????

I hope those that are looking for the Steelbook Combi Blu Ray+DVD are not buying from Blockbuster because that will be the regular version Combi Blu Ray+DVD (not steelbook). Nowhere does it mention steelbook on the blockbuster UK site. Blockbuster do not have the steelbook version listed. The regular Blu Ray Combi+DVD retails at £29.99 and the steelbook Blu Ray Combi+DVD retails at £39.99. The cheapest the latter can be found for is £24.99.

First I did like this movie...

but...I think this movie is an overrated version of Battle For Terra! I dislike the way this movie is being hailed as the greatest movie ever. This is exactly the reason why I hardly ever buy Blu Ray discs. If I buy a title I have to be sure I am not going to be wasting money because a better version is coming out soon after. One of the biggest problems with movie releases these days is the constant money grabs by studios to get us to double & triple dip etc etc for the same title. Releasing a special edition only months after a movie only version is stupid and even if this movie were a favorite of mine I would avoid this release with a passion!

It's not double dipping if you don't double dip... I don't care about extras, and I don't want any longer versions of this already too-long film. Therefore the first release is good enough for me and not a waste of money. If it wasn't, I'd wait. Or I'd rent this version. Or I'd buy this one and then sell it when I replaced it with the next one. The point is that we know there will be a release further down the line, we have been given that information.. sure it would be great if there was just one version, but we are not having secrets kept from us and what we chose to do with the information is up to us... the studios aren't FORCING us to double dip.

As for your view on the film, completely agree. Not the best thing ever, the storyline was rife with cliches and horrendous dialogue, but I thoroughly enjoyed it nevertheless... glad Hurt Locker beat it at the oscars.

When did you guys pre-order?

My Play.com status is "packing" and I pre-ordered the steelbook hours after it went live. I hope there's a dispatch tomorrow.

Same here, i ordered it less than an hour after it went live, but to be fair, it may well have been posted, but they are doing the E-Mails in bulk.

I still dont think anyone will recieve it until saturday.

Could the free Avatar t-shirt with eligible Play.com pre-orders, delay dispatches? Hopefully not. Anyone able to disprove this, please?

Why would the T shirt delay delivery?

Additional packaging? Haven't actually got the t-shirts? I'm anxious for mine, and just clutching at straws to be honest.

It probably wont, but maybe they don't have the t-shirts in yet (for those who are eligible for them), or it might take longer for each package to be packed (with a t-shirt).

Mine is still 'packing' and I ordered it hours after going live too. I wouldn't worry - I think everyone will have their copy by Saturday or release day at the latest. I have had delayed dispatch confirmations from Play before.
