from what i've read this blu-ray is crap but is it worth $10? how much better is it than the Eros DVD? and is the audio quality any good?

if someone could post some screenshot comparisons with the dvd and blu-ray that would be great.

Like I mentioned sorry no screen shots, don't have a BDRom.

Well I skimmed through the VCD ... sorry Blu Ray yesterday. You read that right, I honestly thought it was a good VCD authored into a DVD. I think the Eros DVD was better than this BR. I went up close to the LCD TV and actually noticed compression artifacts.

I ain't gonna go into more details but honestly this is the worst $25 I spent on a BR

People actually liked this movie? I saw this in theaters. It had the loudest soundtrack, SRK at his overacting worst, baroque sets that took away from the story. The movie looked pretty, but lacked a soul. Ah well, chacun son gout!

Screen shots. The images are in JPG but are representative of original shots in uncompressed format. The resolution is that of SL DVD, but better than VCD. The source was also improperly converted from interlaced to 1080p24, so there are frequent combing artifacts.

Thanks to xradman! I do plan to ask my friend to capture the screenshots, now I don't have to do it. The poor lover Devdas even died that he will thank for your efforts. By the way, why the screnshots it's 1920x1200 not 1920x1080? I think it should be 1920x1080 Full HD? Isn't it?
My friend used to install AnyDVD to crack the blu-ray copy protection, then he uses PowerDVD to capture the picture, and it's 1920x1080. How do you capture them?

This looks worse than even the monstrosities from MoserBaer, that got recalled. By far easily the worst BD ever, atleast based on these screenshots.

Screenshots capture what's on the screen. My monitor is 1920 x 1200. Your friend's monitor must be 1920 x 1080. I use AnyDVD HD with media player classic to do my screen captures.

BitWel has released worse looking Blu-rays. I think Man, Woman, and the Wall was much worse than this one. That was really VCD resolution at best.

The images appear squished .. they do not appear this way on TV. Also, to add there are lip sync issues with the blu ray also .. I watched a the song dola re dola and a scene afterwards and noticed this. Don't feel like watching Devdas this way.

in taiwan? why devdas blu-ray not releasd in india by original indian film maker? if it's true, it won't have good quality video. a discussion thread in amazon couple years ago said, there is no good video quality devdas dvd worldwide, no matter one disc version, two discs version or three discs version, us version, uk version, or any other version, the dvd somehow looks like vcd, becasue the source is vhs level. so i don't think this blu-ray would have good video quality if it's not released by original indian film maker.
