I have doubts that it will even come close to matching Iron Man 2 this weekend

The odds are stacked against it, its in 1,000 less theaters.

I think it'll open to about $35-$50M.

Unfortunately I'm guessing Robin Hood is gonna bomb, although I am looking forward to seeing it. Also, I think Prince of Persia flops at like 12mil! I'm not feeling that one at all for some reason.

Nah, the anticipation and hype for this movie is pretty great right now. It will be a smash hit for sure. The whole secrecy and hush-hush feel surrounding it is enough to put me in a seat!

I don’t think a Bruckheimer film can do anything less than it’s budget on principal alone.

The "hush hush" feel that is surrounding it is nobody paying attention to it.

lol no, it's intentional. According to Entertainment Weekly who posted an interview with Nolan, the lack of advertising and promotion for it is intentional. He says there's enough buzz already surrounding it that it will speak for itself pretty much...

obviously no buzz here from the blu crowd lol
But I am very excited for it and can't wait to see what "ye who gives Batman wings" can do with it

I can't help but think quite a few of those movies are going to be absolute crap, but then again I'm not necessarily part of their targeted audience. As to which one/s are going to bomb is a little harder to say because I don't consider a movie to have 'bombed' unless it was expected to do well to begin with.

Ya I figured the way they're pushing this movie that it will be a big seller. Word of mouth will determine it's longevity though. I'm interested in it, will give it a chance to see how it goes.

My guess is The Karate Kid is going to bomb being its the same weekend as The A Team.

People who were too fond of the original, already dislike Will Smith's kid after seeing The Day The Earth Stood Still and realize it doesn't make sense to make a movie called The Karate Kid when he's learning Kung Fu will avoid this film.

The A Team will probably score a PG-13 and grab a wider margin of the moviegoing audience while The Karate Kid won't. The A Team has a better trailer anyway.

I suspect Get Him to the Greek will also bomb. Neither of the lead actors have enough appeal to sell a movie on their own. Jonah Hill's success in Superbad had more to do with the mention of Apatow's involvement which by now is only in an Executive Producer capacity and Russell Brand is not well known enough in the US to sell a movie on his name alone.

To me The A Team looks like it has a little more of the cheese factor. It might have less of an audience than Karate Kid, which will probably be a good family flick to take the kids to. Just sayin'.

The trailer for the J.J. Abrams movie was infront of Iron-man last night.

And even with the titles on a black backround the d-bag couldn't resist putting a goddamn lens flare in there, which will result in me not seeing the movie.

Killers will flop hard What hollywood dumbas* thought it was a great idea to cast ashton kutcher as the lead in an action movie. if you are going to rip True Lies at least get someone who is believable in the role.

Robin Hood is a lock in my opinion. Prince of Persia and MacGruber close to follow.
