I have not seen the movie (and at this point, I might as well wait for the Blu Ray to watch it), but as people have already stated before this, the series is just getting old at this point, and Blue Sky should just pull a Shrek 4 and create an "ending" and leave it to rest and focus on some of their other series.

Not to mention that with each new entry, you can see that the creators are quickly running out of ideas as to what to do with the characters. It seems the issues are always the same: Sid is just flat out ignorant, Manny is always cranky and unsure of his life, Diego is always anti social and Scrat is still after that damn acorn. So instead of doing something interesting with they, they just place them in increasingly silly settings.

Let's have them experiencing the melt down! Let's have them discover dinosaurs! Let's have them out at sea with a crew of pirates as the continents begin to shift!

The first movie, as unoriginal as it was, worked because it had heart, and had a concept that was grounded in reality. The personalities worked then and they had a strong focus on the characters and how they began to grow. These sequels are just taking the basic personalities and putting them on outrageous situations.
