IMO they are equal. If you look at Pixar's first 3 movies you might even have to admit that Marvel is a step ahead. Both had a great showing for their first 3 movies. Marvel's first three have been more successful in box office receipts.

Given the first 3 films of each studio I would say Pixar = Marvel

For the first 3 respectively, I'd say Marvel > Pixar

Iron Man < Toy Story

Incredible Hulk > A Bug's Life

Iron Man 2 > Toy Story 2

And that's my two favorite Pixar films (Toy Story/A Bug's Life)

I would rank them exactly the same. We'll have to see how Thor stacks up to Monsters Inc for the definitive with for Marvel.

I didn't care for Monsters Inc that much...so Thor is almost an autowin for me

Oh no It is 'Iron Man' Returns: Enter the Iron Baby

Tony Stark returns after a vacation to find out he has a child and stalks the kid/mother with his stealth armor

I would've liked to see Rourke
[Show spoiler]live
, then he busts Hammer out of prison in the next one and they come back with another villain and wreak total chaos.....but oh well. 2 solid movies in a row. Looking forward to #3.

That would've been cool, but I am hoping that the Mandarin will finally be revealed. I cannot wait for number 3 also!

I want the next film to touch on the Demon In A Bottle storyline. They hinted at it in the second.

I think that the hint was as much as they are going to do on it. At the end of 2, Stark says he's doing better, is in a relationships, etc. I think he overcame his dark side to become a hero once more. I could be wrong though.

The 3rd one needs to have more action.....a lot more. We've had enough character development in the first two.

I wouldn't be opposed to more action, so long as it doesn't hinder the story in any way. I especially hope the final battle would be a bit better. Both 1 and 2 were pretty short and a bit anti-climactic IMO.

The third movie needs to have the Mandarin. Even with the new Mystical element that will be introduced to this universe by the Thor movie, it will be hard to do the Mandarin in a way that is both realistic and believable, as well as make him in a way that will appeal to the hardcore comic fans. Iron Man is mainly a story of Iron Man's strategy and technology overpowering, or outsmarting somebody elses technology. This is what they have built the first two movies on. The traditional Iron Man vs Mandarin storyline, as far as my uneducated mind understands, is how does one defeat Magic with Technology? That or they will cheap out and tech it up, I don't want that.

However, I am sure that, however they do it, they will be able to make a fantastic 3rd movie.

The good news is they'll have plenty of time to hash out a good story. The earliest this movie would come out is summer, 2013, which gives them three years to prepare for this installment.
