??? I could name you plenty of discs where the audio is subpar and the PQ is outstanding. To start off, one of my favorite movies (which has yet to receive a proper track in lossless audio): Shooter

I have a pretty nice audio setup. I just don't think there's much to screw up in putting audio on a disc other than not using a lossless codec, therefore making it a lesser concern.

Tough choice here also. Both are extremely important and have been a determining factor in some BD (non) purchases. Lean a little more towards AQ.

I had a pretty garbage HTiB set-up before I got my Polks and a HD receiver. IT makes a HUGE difference! Had you have asked me this question a year ago, I would've said Picture Quality all the way.....

I noticed a large difference in audio as well when I upgraded my sound system, but I still feel that both VQ and AQ are equally important.

Indeed they are. I think we can all agree on the fact that both are vital!! But the OP's question is "which one is more important?". I said before, I won't hesitate to buy a blu-ray that has 3 star PQ and 5 star AQ! But I would think a little before buying a movie with 5 star VQ and 2 or 3 star AQ (Dolby Digital)!......Thats all I'm saying!

A good mix in a lossy format still sounds a lot better than what a bad transfer of an good-looking movie looks like.

Understandable! I also feel that both are an absolute necessity! But the AQ of movies like Saving Private Ryan, The Incredible Hulk and many others are just awesome! And if the VQ for those movies were 3 stars instead of 5, then that would be something that I could live with. Not the other way around!

I didn't vote. PQ & AQ are equally important, 50% each.
* Remember in the 20s? Charlie Chaplin era? ...No sound, just the occasional live piano. * CDs/LPs? ...Can you see the band while listening to a CD or an LP? |

CD's are meant to be listened to! Thats just what it is. Artists don't put out albums for you to view on TV, they put them out to be listened to! Blu-rays in general are known for BOTH PQ and AQ! |
