The gameplay trailer looks sweet. Looks like Elizabeth will be the Alyx Vance of BioShock. However, it looks like everything Elizabeth is doing is scripted and the presentation needs a wee bit of polish. Other than that, it looks great.

Giantbomb talks to Ken Levine about Bioshock Infinite

A great video. Ken Levine is a genius! So glad to see they are taking they're time with this game and are going to things correct. It's a long video but I suggest anyone that is interested in this game take a look.

Looks interesting though I'm not a fan of the lighting at all as it looks really dated.

I think it looks like a Bioshock game. They have gone away from that gritty dark feeling that Bioshock had. The first thing you notice is "Oh hey sunlight." they never had that in Rapture. It's a totally different setting yet it still has a Bioshock feel to it. I already know this game will be great. I just replayed the original Bioshock and it has to be one of the most interesting plots, most intruiging atmospheres I've ever played in. The game is almost perfect for me and I'm glad Ken Levine is back on this. Bioshock 2 was okay and did improve on some good points but they failed in capturing the same feeling as the original. This is a totally different game yet I still get the feeling something great is going to take place in this hovering city. It's not all about the graphics.

That gameplay trailer was ridiculous. Immediately the most anticipated game for me...

Couldn't have said it any better. It doesn't look the same as it goes from a claustrophobic environment to a sunlit one, but the gameplay trailer shows how similar it is to the Bioshock franchise.

I'm not sure what it is. I'm replaying Bioshock 2 right now, it just doesn't have that "Mojo" the first game had. I watch the gameplay trailer for Infinite and I can just tell, this is a true Bioshock game. It may be totally different but it just has that feel to it. I'm really excited for this game.

I agree. I just finished Bioshock 2 not too long ago and though it had better gameplay mechanics IMO, the story was pretty lacking, unlike the first one. It was sort of like go here, kill these things continue, rinse and repeat; whereas one kept me enthralled in the story. This new game looks both fun and mysterious. That's what has piqued my interest.

I'm with you guys. I'm currently at Dionysus Park on my first play through of Bioshock 2 and it just seems to be missing some of the magic of the first game.
What I've seen so far for Bioshock Infinitie makes me really excited about the direction they're going in. 2012 is too far away!

Ha I'm exactly at the same part!

I'm rushing through this playthrough. The only trophy I missed was Research Master

Yeah, I agree. I always say Bioshock 2 did a great job of improving on good points of the first. Research, hacking, plasmids. They just missed "Rapture" I think. That is what made the first game so intruiging. Rapture was mysterious, dark, creepy, and had a hell of a storyline. This is just not the same, I like the improvements but I dislike the direction it took.

I think the first Bioshock had a really wierd, eerie feel to it and a sense of the unknown which the second lacked, it was all too familiar. Infinite looks to have that same wierd and eerie feel as the original, looking forward to it

Oh, yes she does.

Default BioShock Infinite Will Rock on the PS3

Irrational Games makes a serious effort on Sony's platform.

PlayStation 3 owners have often suffered when it comes to multiplatform games. In the past, developers have focused on Xbox 360 development for a specific project and the PS3 version of that project is a complete afterthought. These disappointing ports can be especially devastating when the 360 version is a great game. Games like the Orange Box, Bayonetta and even the recently released Enslaved have run noticeably better on the 360.

One of the biggest multiplatform games on the horizon, BioShock Infinite, might have PS3 gamers nervous over poor porting. So Irrational Games Lead Technical Designer Chris Kline reached out to fans in a recent forum post to assure PS3 owners that they won't be getting the short end of the stick this time around.

Kline notes that the PS3 version of Infinite will not be a port at all. As the development team is larger than the team that worked on the original BioShock, the versions are being built simultaneously. Furthermore, the team has modified the game engine so that all platforms resemble the PS3 version from a programming perspective. This is beneficial for the PS3 version, and the other platforms will apparently enjoy increased performance. Finally, Kline mentions that QA is testing on both the 360 and PS3 equally.

This is great news for PS3 owners looking forward to the upcoming first-person shooter set in the skies.
