.CA has dropped the price of Sherlock Holmes to $15, presumably to match Walmart's anniversary sale price.

I don't remember that happening too often at .CA...

Yeah, I saw that too - hopefully .ca will start to do this more often; but then again it may be a studio promotion?

I just placed a decent sized order with both amazon.ca and amazon.com. It seems that the catalog releases are generally decently priced in Canada at amazon.ca while the new releases are still kind of crazy at amazon.ca. The worst culprit is still the Disney titles. I can get Tinker Bell and Beauty and the Beast for seemingly a lot less from amazon.com even with exchange, shipping, and import deposit fees. So my new release order is from .com and my catalog order is from .ca.

Is everyone else seeing this same kind of thing?

I usually do the same thing, only catalog titles from amazon.ca

I am amazed they are actually price matching a local retailer, don't know if I ever noticed them doing this before.

Wish they'd price similar to books, which are very competitive with the American site.

As far as blus are concerned, we really did get the lousy end of the stick. The American and UK sites are far better, and actually have decent sales.

Bonnie and Clyde Digibook is $13.49 right now. Thinking about picking it up with the King Kong Digibook for $40.

Not really a "deal of the week", but worthy of a post here, I think:

All the Alliance Steelbooks slated for November 2 release have a price tag of $21.69. Amazon.ca link here. The news article describing the release can be found here. So far, only Sin City, Traffic and Law-Abiding Citizen have cover art shown. Judging by the Sin City one -- and the words "Premium Edition" in two of the titles -- there might be some nice covers for the others...

According to the Amazon write-up, the Sin City one is the 2-disc US release with the re-cut/extended and theatrical editions.

These are the Steelbook editions:

Sin City Premium Edition Steelbook [Blu-ray]
Kill Bill Volume 1 Steelbook [Blu-ray]
Kill Bill Volume 2 Steelbook [Blu-ray]
Hot Fuzz Steelbook [Blu-ray]
Memento Steelbook [Blu-ray]
Shaun Of The Dead Steelbook [Blu-ray]
Law Abiding Citizen Steelbook [Blu-ray]
Pan's Labyrinth Steelbook [Blu-ray]
History Of Violence Steelbook [Blu-ray]
Traffic Premium Edition Steelbook [Blu-ray]

Just a heads up, but you can get the non-digi version in the WB 60's set with Cool Hand Luke and Bullitt for $30.

I know some people really like digi's though.

It seems my catalog Blu-rays from amazon.ca plan isn't working too well this week.

Exorcist 1 [Blu-ray] Temporarily out of stock.

Treasure of the Sierra Madre [Blu-ray] Temporarily out of stock.

The Maltese Falcon [Blu-ray] Usually ships within 9 to 13 days.

Mad Max Bd & Dvd [Blu-ray] Usually ships within 1 to 2 months.

The Peanuts Collection for $34.99 (six stories) looks like good value.
