I stopped listening to the tortured production history of this game circa 1999. I still have the November 1997 issue of PC Gamer which featured Duke Nukem Forever on its cover, and included this quote "We're not fortune tellers, but we have every confidence that Duke Nukem Forever will be one of the biggest - and perhaps the best - titles of 1998." Not fortune tellers indeed. I won't believe anything until I see copies on the store shelf.

lol awesome mag cover. I too have been waiting for Duke Forever since they announced it. I hope its not completely disappointing. IMHO they should just make another chapters of 2.5D Duke3d, as like a $15 steam and/or psn title...that would ROCK.

There's even a numbered certificate of authenticity, to prove to others that it's the genuine article. Notable omissions include steel stress balls and, in fact, anything spherical or metal.

The Balls of Steel Edition will be available in limited quantities for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC at launch (the week of May 3).

Update: 2K has provided additional details in its press release (in full after the break), revealing that the Balls of Steel Edition will be exclusive to Amazon and GameStop in North America -- for $100.

I've been following the news at Ars Technica. As an original player of the game, I'm really looking forward to this.

It's tempting to get the balls of steel edition, not sure if it's worth 100 bucks. I'd like an edition with the game and just the 100 page book.

I just watched the "return of the Duke" interview on GT and I'm kind of sad to see that they've spent more time on toilet type humor than any actual game development. How many times would reaching into a toilet for a "floater" be fun to do? Or watching a vibrator on a countertop go off. And their proudest achievement is being the first game to ever have an interactive glory hole????? Are you serious?

Based on all the gameplay and graphics, DN Forever looks leaps and bounds worse than any other FPS this gen. But hey, who needs minor things like graphics and gameplay when you can Austin Powers urinate in the bathroom stalls

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/re...e-nukem/710451

A real stinker it seems, at this point not even worth a rental to me IMO...

But I do have to admit that collector edition is pretty badass

Default Duke Nukem Forever campaign is 16 - 18 hours long

It also has a glory hole

Pitchford, who rescued the game when it was cancelled after over a decade in development, also revealed that the protagonist's penchant for all things sexually immature hasn't gone anywhere.

In addition to discussing a level in which Duke goes on a US chat show, is shrunk and ends up riding around on a remote controlled car, Pitchford told G4TV that a Duke-branded female vibrator will also make an appearance.

And that's not all. "There's a glory hole," revealed Pitchford. "Yeah. Fortunately, I'll just leave it at that."

When asked about the game's campaign length, he added: ""Average playtimes are more like 16, 18 hours. I know! It's like three or four Call Of Duties, right? I'm not kidding... The game will speak for itself. I love it."

Duke Nukem Forever is due for release for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on May 3 in the US and three days later in Europe.

I think they delayed just for the press buzz that would surround it.

LOL Yeah a decade isn't that long

It's almost a guarantee that every big release will be delayed at least a couple months, or in this case almost a couple of decades

I don't really get the whole Duke Nukem thing. With all the GREAT FPS games out/coming out, this is by far the worst of them. Do people still really care that much about flinging turd and going to strip clubs?

Duke to me is like Matt Hazard, only Duke hasn't figured out he's the butt of all jokes. From what they've shown it really looks terrible man... Unless i've missed some revolutionary video, can someone please show me something to be hyped about?

This looks pretty bad. Plus you get to slap women around. Yay!

It's essentially a larger version of a Matt Hazard game, to me. They can delay this for another 10 years for all I care.
