Update:

After raising 7 kinds of hell with the staff in the Office of Admissions, they say that Friday is the last day for fees to be paid for the Fall semester. So if anyone in my original scheduled classes gets dropped for no payment or any other reason I'm first to be put back in (so they say).

Though it is still angering considering they took me out and put another student in but say they can't take a student out to put me in....

IMO, it's very prudent to use the "IMO" disclaimer. Many people on the internet just aren't bright enough to discern opinion from perceived statment of fact. If I were to say something like ***"Yamaha is ten times better than Onkyo" without the IMO disclaimer... sooner or later someone is going to disagree and ask for proof of my assertion.

*** not my actual opinion..... just an example folks!

bad day today.

i buckled down and decided to get some work done today inbetween all of our home upgrade projects (i'm a taxidermist on the side).

i had a coyote skin all ready to be finished, the customer wanted a rug done.

i get all of the felt cut and the finish work all done, call him up, he comes over, is all excited when he's @ my place.

10 min. after he leaves, i get a call,"What the F*** is this!!!???"

he must've started inspecting it after he got home and was unhappy w/a few things.

specifically the hair on the ears was a little thinner than when he dropped it off. some had fallen out, the tanning process must've not taken which can happen, it's part of this business, nothing can be done to help it. the rest of the fur was beautiful, it had a really nice coat.

i offered to put a new skin on free of charge to save the sale but he said no.

worst part is i'm out $350!!!

Wow, I'm still not working and things just keep getting better!

My wife was called 9 months ago, to leave the law firm she was at, and go to another firm with all the promises in the world of a great future. She was also offered a $10,000 yr raise.

Of course she took it. At the time, she worked 3 days a week, and the new firm knew that, and told her they understood and were fine with 3 days, and would never pressure here into working more.

She was fired today, and a full time employee was hired to replace her!

She had 11 yrs at the old firm and is a work horse!

SOB!

Just wanted to vent about an annoyance with Blu-ray I haven't dealt with before. So I watched the first episode on disc 3 of Dexter season 3 on my Sony S350 just fine. Last night I went to watch the second episode and couldn't get it to work. It'd start up fine, show a preview for Showtime shows, and then freeze after that. I tried rebooting the player but it'd still freeze at the same point. I spent 20 minutes trying to get it to work and it'd never get past the same point. Now I understand that with firmware and changes in technology problems can happen but why would it work one day and not the next? My player isn't connected to the internet so nothing changed with the player. I would assume if I download the latest firmware it will work but I've never had this happen.

I'm losing my job in two weeks due to government insourcing (when the government decides they'd rather have a government employee working instead of a contractor hired by the government) and I got a huge workload before I leave. I think they're trying to kill me before I step out.

I turned down a good paying job that I didn't want. Now some people close to me are pissed because it's "not about what I want, it's about having a job, any job, and making money." Mentally, I don't want a job I don't want to do... Even if it pays good. I'd rather be a laborer right now as I've gained 60 lbs. of fat from my current job and I want some form of physical activity.

Since I'm losing my job, I lose access to the base's gym. I workout every day, twice. Big change for me.

I've never actually been laid off before. I've quit a few times but I've never been shoo'd away. I hear there's a lot of government money for people considered "dislocated workers", so I might check that out. But what I really want to do is explore other places. I'd like to move to the next biggest town and see what I can do there and perhaps even go to school. I just hope my wife makes enough to pay our rent, car insurance, car payments, electricity, and all the extras. When I'm sitting at home all day, I'm going to put a lot of my stuff for sale online and see what I can get. But I'm also looking at the bright side... A change. Maybe for the better.

Fantastic! I love being toyed with.

I went for a series of interviews, things seemed to be going great. I was told at the end of the last interview that I'd hear something either way in about 2 weeks. 3 days later, I get a request for a few more references, different from what was on my resume.

To most people, that's a positive thing right? He's at the reference check stage!

Well it's been a week and they haven't checked any of my references, and they ran the ad again for the position. So...I contacted the Sales Manager to enquire how the process was going. I gave it a week after he got my references as to not seem desparate or annoy him. Of coure I still want to show interest.

Apparently, I'm only a short list and will be called if they want me for another interview!

WTH did he ask for more references 3 days after my last interview only to not even check them!? It's now been a week and half.

Maybe this is a firm you should NOT work for. Odd behaviour.

What a crappy morning, literally.

So construction is going on next to my home and they have those port-a-potties for the construction workers. I'm in the shower, getting nice and clean and just started shampooing my hair with a new shampoo, when all of a sudden the most putrid, crap, rank smelling odor hot my nose. Sure enough the truck was there pumping out all the built up, construction work crapola from the port-a-potty. I wanted to puke. The foulest stench...like in Labyrinth, I felt I was in the "Bog of Eternal Stench".

I get out, feeling only somewhat clean and decide to go to the grocery store. I drive away from my home and about 2 blocks away I have to wait for a red light to change.
Guess what?
Same septic truck pumping another construction site right next to me. More ripe, putrid stench all inside my car.

Can you believe it?? What crappy luck!!

I hate bad drivers. They piss me off to no end. People who cut you off, people who want to exit from the left lane and cut off four lanes of traffic, people who don't understand the concept of 'mering' or 'fast lane', people who cut in front of you and go slower than you, etc....

Really, driving is dangerous enough without all of the bad behavior and dumb-asses on the road. It has gotten to be beyond just simple rage now, I actually fear for my safety sometimes. Cars are fragile, but people don't seem to get it (especially SUC/truck drivers!). One wrong move or rude behavior, and someone can get hurt or killed. I just don't think most people are aware of, or care enough about, this. People just need to learn to be more aware of their environment while driving and learn a little courtesy. It will make the road a much safer (and less stressful place).

There, got it out....

I feel your pain. I hate people that are too freaking lazy to use their turn signals when they turn or change lanes. That is really what it boils down to.... extreme laziness. They know they are supposed to use them... but they are too LAZY to extend that finger over and flip the turn signal lever. Makes me wonder how they even get out of bed in the morning. I'm pretty sure that just breathing must leave those idiots exhausted by the end of the day.

I agree with everything you said. I struggle with those situations you pointed out everyday in my commute (I'm in the Bay Area where traffic is pretty bad). I remember reading something in the past that there are 30 million people in the US with drivers licenses but are NOT really qualified to drive.

Wow, that is scary! But I believe it.... There are many people who drive that probably shouldn't....

I've actually been called for another interview, and it sounds like an offer may be coming. I really need and actually really want this particular job. BUT THIS IS KILLING ME!

I couldn't agree more. I commute about 50km every day in major traffic and you see $20, $30, $40K cars zooming all over the place but sadly, sadly none of these cars come equipped with turn signals apparently.

Also ticks me off when people are speeding, only to beat me to the red light or get maybe at most 3-4 car lengths ahead. If people actually realized that they save maybe 1min at the most the majority of the time when they are driving like morons, maybe they would just relax.

Thanks

The whole movement to saying "Thus far" is driving me nuts. When I watch a football game, I keep hearing it every 5 minutes. These announcers need to find a thesaurus and figure out something else to say!
