Hmm watched this last night and i'm sure it had bars at top/bottom meaning 2:35 or round abouts is that right?

Just got it from Zavvi yesterday. But honestly didn;t take much notice it was a great film but downbeat ending

The opening titles do, but even then they don't look to be the full 2.35. It's 16:9 from thereon out.

Unfortunately it's not.

Thanks for the address nutteronabus. I've sent off an email to Icon as well.

If your guys really are annoyed by this then you should get the US version but just be aware that it does not include the directors Q&A like the UK version.

I recieved Buried today. Rather annoyed at the cropping of the image. I can imagine the executive meeting that decided on that; 'Is there any way we can make Buried feel more confined?'

I've emailed Icon about it, Im genuinally annoyed about it all, Considering hes horizontal most the film, I have no real interest in seeing half of Ryan Reynolds head.

Email Icon, hopefully it was a genuine mistake, and they'll sort it out in due cause. Or if not, they'll realise how much they screwed up.
I dont have my hopes up though, the opening credits are in 2:35:1 but the rest is 16:9. I'm worried for the release of Let Me In next month because of this now. Maybe the cropping is the reason that and Buried are so cheap?

Just finished watching it, had a lesser impact than at the cinema, I kept wondering who thought the aspect ratio change was a good idea.

Whoopa De Doo!!

Correct aspect ratio over crap extras, methinks.

Also. The 'N' key on my keyboard is nowhere near the 'O' button, so why do I
keep seeing idiots typing 'aspect ration'? Plebs.

If this is how studios want to treat customers and pander to the tw@ts that whinge about black bars,
then they can f*** off!

US version is Region A!

I'm thinking on skipping this until a later date because of all this ratio stuff. I think I might try and get a 2 for £20 bargain instead

I've just watched it and its not cropped :S

No bars top or bottom, seems to be the right ratio.

maybe its only certain copies??

Their should be black bars along the top and bottom (original aspect ratio is 2.35:1, whereas Icon's disc is cropped to 16:9).

See the below pictures, thanks to nutteronabus (top image is 2.35:1 image, below is Icon's 16:9 image);

[Show spoiler]

Well dont i look like a prize idiot! Im meant to say there were bars at the top and bottom....but now as i've bothered to read the rest of the thread i see its only the opening titles. strange that they would have the opening titles in 1 ratio and the film in another... didnt even notice tho and thought there were bars the whole way through so what the hell do i kno!
