Now I wish I didn't already have seasons 1 and 3 or else I'd get one myself. Been waiting for the US season 2 to drop in price for ages now and on top of that it keeps getting "under review" at Amazon repeatedly...

Anyone one got any pictures of this set. I saw the few they have on Amazon but doesn't show you it with the discs. Although this set is a lot cheaper than buying the seasons separate I can't decide which I prefer. Most likely this one I guess....but some pictures would be great

Here's a nice little unboxing of the complete set.

I wan't to get the films too, but can't decide between the complete set or the 2 seperate box sets.

I do like the slim cases in the seperate sets, and they would sit on my shelf just fine so I think I'm leaning towards those. Bit more expensive though

Cheers for that. Still can't decide but I guess I'm probably better off buying the complete set. As for the movies personally I wouldn't get the box sets cause I didn't like them all. However for yourself getting them I would say the separate sets. Although I hate slim cases I think the boxes look nicer than the complete set and they would look better of the shelf. I prefer the design of the separate sets especially the front with the lenticular picture

I've decided to get the seprerate movie boxsets They do look a lot nbetter than the complete set, and will actually go on my shelf

I'm holding of untill the new year, then I will get the complete TOS and the 2 boxsets and the TNG sampler, will take me a long time to get through that lot

I did originally have the separate movie sets but sold them when the Complete 1-10 set was reduced to £55 as I wanted to have each film in its own normal size case.

If I could go back in time though I would have kept the separate releases as they made go book ends and kept the rest of my collection from falling over plus they took up next to no space, something I am running short of now.

Does the UK release have the horrible cardboard sleeves as well?

The video is of the UK set, and it has the discs in the cardboard sleeves of the fold out packaging.

UK set looks exactly same as the Scandinavian but without the PG logo. Our certificates are at the bottom of the set along with audio/subtitle info, if I remember correctly.

Just ordered TOS Complete box set on Blu-ray - just out of interest, what's included in the way of extras?

Presumably a few documentaries?

How about commentary tracks?

There is really a ton of extras on these 3 seasons. To see what you can check out the reviews of the individual seasons on this site. Bought it myself last week and I'm very much enjoying till now!

Thanks!

Can't see any sign of any commentary tracks though, which is a shame.

looking to get this in HMV, was originally sceptic at the cardboard sleeves as i have DVD boxsets in a few like that, and there easily scratched, but that video puts my mind at ease.

Having just purchard the TOs Complete a few days ago, I'm about half way through season 1.

Very impressive so far, and on the whole the new visual f/x work very well. However, I can't help but think that the old film stock could have done with some more work, my two bugbears being:

a) The colours are inconsistent - some episodes are fine with good reds, yellows and blues, but some have much paler colours, sometimes varying from shot to shot. I find this most noticeable on the yellow shirts, which are sometimes borderline orange.

b) Some dirt and scratches are still very noticeable

Overall, I feel that a bit more quality control should have been applied, but at the same time am mostly very happy with this set and would recommend it to others.

They did a terrific job with the enhanced effects, it looks perfect, not too modern but exactly perfect as if it was supposed to be that way.

My two criticisms are not aimed at the new visual f/x, but at the restored film footage of non-f/x shots.

It was not a direct answer to your message. I've only watched the first 5 episodes till now but I must say I'm amazed by the picture quality! Funny when you look at the promo on the discs, what a difference!
