If they make them, I'll see them. I'm a sucker for a good franchise.
I don't either. Sure there were some parts of Revolutions that weren't that good or even necessary, but I thought the Battle of Zion was very cool and very essential for the completion of the story. What the Wachowskis should have done was to condense the two films and conclude the film with the Battle of Zion. In other words, instead of 4.5 hours total for both sequals, a single film around the 3.25 hour mark would have been sufficient. The problem with the two sequals was that they weren't focused enough. Too many side plots going on. The whole Keymaster thing in Reloaded was really unnecessary. And the subway scene in the Revolutions was unneccessary as well.

I've always fancied that a chronicle of the first five iterations of "The One" might be interesting. Even if they are all the same phenomenon, they all gotta have their own unique experiences. Or so I believe.

Otherwise, yeah more background on Morpheous and the Nebuchadnezzar crew would be insightful. Snippets of it appear in the "Matrix" comic and the "Animatrix," but not really that much.

Otherwise, the "Animatrix" did a smashing job of detailing the initial rise of the machines.

This may be a big stretch, but I think it's possible that Neo will come back and take Seraph's place and be the guardian for the Oracle....I have always thought that once the One has fulfilled his work, that person takes the mantle of the Oracle's protector. I think that's why Seraph had to "test" Neo in Reloaded to make sure he was who he claimed to be....who better to know the One than the previous (the) One? Plus Seraph wasn't a slouch...he could really handle himself if a fight broke out - he was like the second best fighter in the Matrix universe, so why couldn't he be the previous iteration of Neo? Just my 2 cents and questions...

I'm for it. I loved the first and third film. Wasn't that too big on the second film. Felt like filler and just a popcorn movie.

Awesome! I can't wait until they run yet another franchise into the ground...

I'm not sure how this can fit based on the way the 3rd one ended - unless he's the "next" Neo - even then, will the Matrix lose the progress for the first trilogy?

I actually like the whole trilogy. I think people pile on too many complaints about the films. If there is an interesting story to be told, I'd be happy to pay to see it.
3D IMAX would be hot.

I think it should just be Neo flying around like Superman, then eventually he has to battle the real Superman for the final battle.

Of course they'll probably just screw it up and have him fighting Jeff Bridges.

The bargain struck was a good way to end the trilogy but too continue it would mean the war has started raging once again too which only one world will survive.

Also the Matrix without Smith really wouldn't be a matrix movie
I see. I agree that without Smith, eff any sequels. He was awesome.

That's a killer theory. It would be awesome if it turns out to be true.

I saw this news earlier this morning. Could be interesting. Not entirely surprising either, given what the Oracle said at the end of Revolutions.

I never liked the Animatrix, Don't really know why.

A live action held in similar style showing the short stories of the 5 predecessors could be good as I like you assume there must have been significant differences

Didn't they also say they would never do another matrix movie

Either way, wants can change over time and I have learnt that " Never" in the movie industry rarely holds much weight

I think that's great! They didn't end Neo's story the way I hoped and I didn't buy that he was really dead.

The View of the city at the end as he is taken away is a visual clue that he wasn't dead.

Unfortunately, what's more laughable is including Keanu in any future Matrix films - it just confuses the purpose of the One. Unless, that is, Reeves played a completely different character than Thomas Anderson, highlighting the fact that identities are completely interchangeable in the Matrix.

After all, his physical form was not destroyed at the end, so he could be jacked back in to the Matrix (and escape again). Except in this iteration, he would not be the One for this goaround... someone ELSE would be the One (and tick off the non-understanders even more )

Hmmm. Intriguing.

Doc
Couldn't agree with you more expect the part of having thomas anderson come back but not as the one. That would be very pushing it.

People seem to forget that reloaded and revolutions are not a sperate movie's they are al one big long set. 3 parts to a whole. its not matrix oen story line relaoed a 2nd story line and so on. If people didn't like its becasue they didn't understand it. liek the ol saying goes poeple fear and hate what they don't understand.

Personaly i'd love to see this come back. Unfortonaly I don't see it happening, The bro's said this is to be a triliogy only. thats how they planned it and devloped it. But I'm all for it if it really did happen.

Um Neo's "physical" form was dead after he let Smith take him. yes I beleive that the original "one" was acatuly a program, but the human body part did die. If you rememebr in the first matrix after Neo fell to the trampoline road he spits up some blood, and asks
neo-"I though you said it wasn't real?"
morph-"Your body maes it real"
neo-"if you get killed in the matrix, you die here?"
morph-"the Body can't live without the mind"

when neo game smith his body he was dieing off, then smith took over. once he did that his physical body was no longer his. it belonged to smith more or less.

When they were tapping the line it wasn't showing a date. it was showing the number. 555-0960. The last time at the end of matrix Neo stopped the tap, himself. it said system error or somthign like that its; been a whiel since I watched them through.
Neo was nothing more but another feature of control by the machines, An anomaly born to even the equation and set a predictable set of events on a coarse which was easily managed.

How ever with he current neo he became unpredictable due to love and the connection with Trinity which forced him to choose a different choice which changed/broken the cycle of control and allowed for a truce with the machines for the freed humans in zion.

Everything before was an Illusion of choice as there was no choice to be made other than to return to the source and save zion.

Been a while since I watched this Trilogy but I think that is about right.
That is EXACTLY right. you hit the nail on the coffen
