Since every copy has been censored, I fail to see how this matters.

I didn't remember seeing anything when I watched the DVD, but you might be right. I wasn't aware of the censorship history of the movie. I just thought i'd point it out in case it was anything new. I'm sorry if I offended you.

I wouldn't really call it censorship in the usual sense. Harring asked for it and Lynch obliged. In any case, the scene in and of itself is pretty dim to begin with. I didn't even notice and still have a hard time doing so.

Yeah if that's what's 'censored', than I wouldn't call it censorship. If anything that shot lasts for a few frames anyway.

But yes apparently the German version of this is region-free so jump, jump on it. I've got the B-locked UK Studio Canal version and it's one of my favorite blu pkgs - as well as one of my favorite films - and I highly recommend that too (it has extras) if you're region-B capable.

And Blue Velvet: PREORDERED. Thanks OP for the heads up. Finally a Lynch title on blu in this country.

Yes, finally another Lynch title on these shores. Over half of his oeuvre has already been released on the format overseas, with one pitiful release here.

And he's basically Alan Smithee'd this one, hasn't he?

But methinks you may be being sarcastic much...

Great news for us here in the USA!

What I wouldn't give for a boxset of Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, and Mulholland Drive! A hell of alot more than StarWars, LOTR, or the first 3 SAW movies, I can tell you that much!

...And if it was chocked full of extras like color-paged booklets, artwork, interviews, blue keys, and a signed portrait of Robert Blake trying to bite off Dennis Hopper's ear.....

The artwork has been put up on the amazon page. There seems to be a blue motif going on.

He has seemd to really be changed in the way he views film a lot since his 'life trauma' and I think his views on some films might have changed accordingly.

He has a couple of times in print to defend his hatred of Blue Velvet.

I suspect he has a thing for Isabella Rossellini hates the movie because he doesn't like seeing her in particular being humiliated on film.

Got to love the stupid "Top News" "feature" here. Two pages of junk someone decides is "top news" followed by some actual important news. Brilliant.
