There's nothing wrong with product placement as long as it's not intrusive. I'd rather watch a character drink a Pepsi than drink Yes Brand Cola.
But it's when James Bond takes a really long look at his GPS even though his location is directly in front of him, or when characters who know nothing of the real world have a gaming center with X-Box proudly displayed on it, or when the characters suddenly start talking like they're in a commercial to pitch an item, that it gets distracting. |
