Maybe Battlefield 3 continues Bad Company 2's story.

this is what im not getting at all in this thread...

BFBC1 had a story about BC for single player and online
BFBC2 had a story about BC for single player and online..

now its called Battlefield 3 and people are thinking there's not gonna be a Single player directly related to the last one when they clearly left a cliff hangar in the last one?

im just not following the posts here. if someone can clear it up for me thatd be great lol

Battlefield 3 is the sequel to the PC game Battlefield 2 and not the sequel to the console to PC port Battlefield: Bad Company 2. While the single player component could be a story driven affair unlike the bot matches from BF2, I'd err on the side of a BF: BC3 will be the narrative sequel to BF: BC2.

You'll be waiting awhile. DICE is most likely pouring all their efforts into BF3, BC3 would be extremely lucky to see a late spring 2012 release. I highly doubt that.

Plus BF3 will blow BC games out of the water.

Battlefield 3 has no story correlation to either of the Bad Company games. They did not change the title or anything, it is a "sequel" to Battlefield 2.

Hopefully the news and interviews at the GDC will clear this up then. It kinda makes sense to merge the two titles into one super powerhouse.

I'm not all that concerned about the narrative structure in the Bad Company games, story was uber weak to begin with, I don't think many people will be upset if they don't see a resolution to the cliffhanger ending from BC2.

I'm starting to think that we wont see a BC3 at all however...

^This. I wasn't aware that there was any confusion on the matter.

German site claiming, "Further, you may draw players from the line of fire and injured members of the terrain as a stand for your weapon even use".

Rumored limited edition content:

“This themed expansion pack features four legendary maps from Battlefield 2 boldly re-imagined with frostbite 2 physics, destruction and visuals. Completing the package are classic Battlefield 2 weapons and vehicles, unique rewards, new Achievements/Trophies and more.”

Battlefield 3 right after Bad Company 2 is a bad marketing decision.

Battlefield 1943 was released between Bad Company and Bad Company 2. Because this is a full retail release, it will have a higher profile and much greater promotional push. It could just as easily be argued that another small map, low vehicle count based Bad Company release would cause a waning of interest in their audience. Also, planes.

Day one legendary edition for me. I just hope Skyrim leaves some time for an epic shooter.

I can't see why they wouldn't, as BF2 had a single player mode included. And as dereksworl said, it'd be a hardsell for them to pull a MAG and just make it MP.

BF has always multiplayer only in the past, so don't be shocked to see no Solo player in this one too. In fact I hope they don't add a solo this time to... Better they focus on MP than just try to throw together some crappy SP game.

I am not counting the fact you can play BF2 with bots... and Bad Company isn't a true BF game.

BF 3 will have a single player campaign, and a co-op campaign along the lines of modern warfare 2, I think, if I am reading the following correctly.

From IGN:

"Additional details courtesy of the official Battlefield Blog confirm a full single-player and co-op campaign, jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer for the PC version. The Frostbite 2 engine will power the game and a Limited Edition will be revealed around GDC."
