Here you go Blu-Benny! Just caught word of this today. Unfortunately, the article states that there won't be a Blu-ray release, but only DVD.

Packers' championship playoff DVD set to be released

By Bob Wolfley of the Journal Sentinel
Nov. 2, 2011 11:35 a.m.

A four-disc DVD set of the Packers' championship run in the playoffs last season, "NFL Green Bay Packers: Road to XLV," is scheduled to be available in stores on Nov. 29 with the suggested retail price of $39.93.

Vivendi Entertainment, the National Football League and NFL Films have produced and are distributing the DVD set. Vivendi announced the release date of the set on Wednesday.

Each disc is a game telecast of the four teams the Packers beat in the playoffs: Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago and Pittsburgh. The discs carry "the original network broadcasts" according to a press release. All four of those games were broadcast on Fox. The commercial breaks and halftime programming have been edited out, according to a spokesman for Vivendi.

At first, a spokesman for Vivendi said the set was to be available in Blu-ray, but later in the day said it was not going to be available in Blu-ray.

Earlier this year, the DVD “NFL Super Bowl XLV Champions: Green Bay Packers,” was released with much fanfare. That NFL Films production was distributed by Warner Home Video.

Subsequent to the release of that DVD, NFL Films struck a deal with Vivendi, which is now the exclusive distributor for NFL Films home entertainment programming. The Packers’ playoff set is the first under the Vivendi banner.

Default Vivendi email addresses

Here's the address to a statement from the Vivendi Company regarding their agreement with the NFL to distribute Super Bowl XLV. There are 2 email addresses at the end of the statement. Maybe we can get somewhere by writing to these people, asking for a bluray release. The odds are probably against it, but it can't hurt to try, can it? (FWIW, I wrote to both).
